III. Procedures
A. Review/Recall/Connecting to Prior Knowledge
Word Problem of the Day
Beth has 4 packs of crayons. Each pack has 10 crayons in it. She also has 6 extra crayons. How many
crayons does Beth have altogether?
Paper Folding
Do the activity below and answer the questions that follow.
1. Fold the paper into halves horizontally.
2. Fold the paper into halves vertically.
3. Draw a line of the folded part.
4. Label the intersection of the two lines (0, 0).
5. On the right side and upper part of zero, make a number line containing positive integers.
6. On the left side and lower part of zero, make a number line containing positive integers.
Questions:
1. The entire paper is divided into how many parts?
2. Tell/ describe what you’ve formed.
3. What can you say on the pair of signs in every part?
B. Establishing Purpose of the Lesson
Your output is called the rectangular coordinate plane. If I were to put points on the plane, can you give its
exact location? How?
To further understand this topic, kindly watch this.

D. Developing Mastery
As a group, do this!
Break the Code
Question: What does the singer mean?
Window Card
Cut the following coordinates then paste it to its corresponding window.
Color My Quadrant/ Axis
Determine the quadrants/ axes of the following coordinates by coloring them.
Quadrant I: Blue Quadrant III: Yellow x-axis: violet
Quadrant II: Green Quadrant IV: Red y-axis: orange
IV. Generalization/ Abstraction
Is rectangular coordinate system useful in real life? Can you site some of its applications?
How is it use in real life?
V. Evaluation
Objective: Using 60% passing score, at least 60% of the class will pass the test.
Read each statement carefully. Choose the correct answer.

a. abscissa b. ordinate c. origin d. ordered pairs
2. Which of the following ordered pairs can be located at quadrant 3?
a. (2,3) b. ( -3, 5) c. (-4, -6) d. (7.-2)
3. The second number in the ordered pair is called y-coordinate or _________.
a. abscissa b. ordinate c. origin d. pairs
4. The four regions formed by the coordinate axes are called ________.
a. quarter b. quadrants c. quadrants d. quadra
5. If the point is located on the x-axis, which of the following is the possible coordinates?
