OVERVIEW
Over 3 years of experience in Design & Finite Element Analysis in Oil and Gas,
& Fertilizer Industry. Knowledge of international codes such as ASME Sec. VIII
Div. 1 & Div. 2, API-650, TEMA Standard
M.Tech. from SPCE, Mumbai in Mechanical Machine Design From 2015 to
2017.
Sound Knowledge of Pressure Equipment Design, Finite Element Method
Solid Mechanics & Fracture Mechanics.
INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE
Design Engineer at New Horizons Consulting Engineers LLP, Mumbai (2017- till
date)
Responsibilities:
1. Design of Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers and Tanks for Petrochemical &
Refinery Industry. Designed critical equipment successfully such as DFU heat
exchanger, high pressure reactors, API storage tanks using ITS etc.
2. Perform FEA of Pressure vessels, Heat exchangers & pressure equipment
components and Fatigue life evaluation of Pressure vessels, Heat exchangers.
3. Coordinating with other engineering disciplines and interacting with
customers & vendors. Check compliance of vendor documents with
international codes, practices and project specifications.
4. Check/review of Design Calculations & Fabrication Drawings and Inter
disciplinary comments for Pressure vessels, heat exchangers & tanks.
5. Calculation of dimension of pressure parts and non-pressure parts like
Channel side internal assembly for high pressure heat exchanger, Baffles,
Saddles, Lifting Lugs, Trunnions, Tailing Lugs, optimizing thickness with use of
stiffeners etc. by using the first principles of Strength of Materials.
6. Pipe flexibility analysis of Liquefaction skid as per ASME B31.3.
Project Assistant at ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions, Mumbai. (2016-2017)
Project: “Leak tightness analysis of bolted body flange of heat exchanger near
pass partition plate"(M.Tech. thesis).
1. Project involves investigation the behavior and sealing performance of
flanged joint with a flat metal gasket of heat exchanger at vicinity of pass
partition plate using finite element analysis.
2. A 3- dimensional finite element model including contact elements & bolt pre-
load tool is used for the analysis in ANSYS workbench 16.0. Results of contact
pressure computed at gasket location are used to predict leakage behavior of
the joint.
3. Flange stresses obtained from the analysis are evaluated as per ASME
criteria. Effect of difference in fluid temperature for the two passes and also
the influence of insulation thickness on the leak tightness of joint is
presented.
4. Possible measures to mitigate leakage in such situation is discussed such as
optimized insulation thickness, use welded gasket & fountain type tube
layout for heat exchangers.

Title: Zero turning radius vehicle: Case study and analysis (M Tech Course
project, Duration: 1 semester)
Overview: Study of Zero turning radius concept and different innovative
wheel steering designs that overcome car driving difficulties like low speed
cornering, vehicle parking and driving in city conditions with heavy traffic in
tight spaces, vehicle on hilly road. Working of Zero turning radius mechanism,
testing, different design approaches, material and component with static
analysis, cost analysis, applications, future scope etc are studied & presented.
PUBLICATION
Research paper titled “Leak tightness analysis of bolted body flange of heat
exchanger near pass partition plate" is published & presented in International
conference on Mechanical and Production Engineering (ICMAPE) organized by
SARC(South Asian Research Center) also published in International Journal of
Management and Applied Science (IJMAS).
