NARRATIVE REPORT ON BRIGADA ESKWELA

In preparation for the opening of classes for S.Y. 2019-2020, Jaclupan National High School had
launched it Bridagada Eskwela on May 20-25, 2019. Apparently, the Jaclupan force headed by our school
head, Mr. Eamon U. Alido, with our teaching and non-teaching personnel earnestly joined the opening
program at Talisay City Central School on May 20, 2019.

Moreover, in participation to the advocacy of making the school ready, conducive for learning and
carefree for the students, Jaclupan National High School teachers, parents/stakeholders and students, joined
hand in hand in cleaning and preparing the station for the Oplan Balik Eskwela.

In fact, in the morning of May 20, 2019 (day 1), the whole Jaclupan team had its “caravan” within
the barangay and relative areas to inform the community, concerning the official kick off of the Brigada
Eskwela. Right after the caravan, a short school based program had been conducted purposely to present the
rationale and guidelines of the Brigada Eskwela.

The week preparation included: repairing, repainting and replacement of roofs, gutters, blackboards,
chairs, desks and tables, installation and repairing of the water facilities, putting up school’s signage,
landscaping and gardening, trimming and pruning of trees, replacing and monitoring of electricity for the
lighting, repairing and repainting of windows, doors and comfort rooms, cleaning and preparing the school
grounds, constructing the school canteen, student’s lounge and clinic, repairing of the school fence and wall
and preparing for the instructional materials and laboratory equipment.

Within the entire Brigada week, volunteers had to reflect their names in the BE form for the daily
attendance and must comply the Brigada slip given to them. The process was facilitated by the
documentation committee for supervision and monitoring.

Furthermore, the volunteers whom included the parents, teachers, job orders, local government
representatives and the rest of the stakeholders contributed a lot to the success of the program, through
rendering its various types of service such as doing ordinary labours, carpentry, masonry, plumbing,
gardening, electrical works, repainting and restructuring of classrooms and offices.

Indeed, the Brigada Eskwela of Jaclupan national High School was successfully done because of the
collaborative effort of the school administrators, DepEd personnel, teachers, parents, local government unit
and community.
