ASSESSMENT OF EDUKASYON SA PAGPAPAKATAO INSTRUCTION IN

GRADE 7 STUDENTS AT NEW CABALAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

SCHOOL S.Y. 2019 – 2020

TOPIC

Values Education has been a part of public schooling in the Philippines. It has

undergone dramatic changes over the years, from didactic instruction to service

learning; it continues to evolve as more and more schools become involved in

teaching students right from wrong. The relevance of Values Education as a subject

heightened by the urgent need to strengthen the moral fiber of society. For national

moral recovery, the Department of Education, Culture and Sports introduced the

Values Education Program in 1998 emphasizing social reform through the inner

transformation of the individual. That was in support of President Corazaon Aquino’s

1988 Moral Recovery Program. The DepEd Program had as its centerpiece the

offering of Values Education as a subject in all Grade levels the same subject is

offered in the K-12 Curriculum with a new name Technology and Livelihood

Education. The current emphasis on skills in schools as an attempt to alleviate the

increasingly violent behavior of students as reported in the media.

RESEARCH QUESTION

This study aims to know the performance level of Grade 7 students in Values

Eduaction Specifically, this study intends to answer the question:

 What is the level of performance of the Grade 7 students in Values

Education based on the item analysis?


DATA PRESENTATION

This study is an action research concerning fifty-two (51) randomly selected


Grade 7 students in New Cabalan National High School, school year 2019 – 20020.

The basis for this research is the result of their Item Analysis of their periodical Exam
result and the MPS.
