Positions for Analysts (Contractual basis)

Mahalanobis National Crop Forecast Centre (MNCFC),

• Mahalanobis National Crop Forecast Centre (MNCFC) is a national centre under


Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers’ Welfare (DAC&FW),
Government of India, located in Pusa Campus, New Delhi, engaged in use of space
technology for agricultural applications.

• MNCFC is executing various national level projects, such as FASAL (Forecasting


Agricultural output using Space, Agrometerology and Land based observations); NADAMS
(National Agricultural Drought Assessment and Monitoring System) and CHAMAN
(Coordinated Horticulture Assessment and Management using geoinformatics). These
projects envisage use of Remote Sensing data and GIS tools for Crop Production
Forecasting, Drought Monitoring, Horticulture Assessment & Development and Crop
Insurance.

• For the above projects MNCFC proposes to hire Analyst Level Personnel (ALP),
on purely contractual and temporary basis through the Service Provider,
engaged by MNCFC.

• Recruited ALPs will be employees of the selected Service Provider and would
provide professional services to MNCFC, on outsourcing basis. They will have
to abide by the contractual agreement of MNCFC with the service provider.

• The jobs are purely temporary, for a period upto 31 March, 2020. However, the
period may be extended beyond 31 March, 2020, subject to the extension of the
project and performance of the selected ALPs.

• The selected ALPs may be deployed at MNCFC, New Delhi. However, one ALP will
be placed at SAC (ISRO), Ahmedabad.

• For the services, ALPs shall be paid through the Service Provider @ Rs. 50000/-
per month (Rupees Fifty Thousand Only) per ALP. These figures of Rs. 50,000/-
shall be the consolidated amount, which will be given in hand to the ALPs. Only
employee’s contribution of EPF, insurance, if applicable, shall be deducted from this
amount.

• These posts would involve extensive touring in different parts of the country
for field data collection and field experiments.

• MNCFC reserves its rights to cancel the advertisement and increase or decrease the
number of posts.

Working hours:

ALPs will be required to work during normal Office hours of the place of posting for all
working days of a month. In case of exigencies and whenever required, the deployed
ALPs may be required to work beyond office hours and on holidays also, without any
extra remuneration. In case of absence of the Analysts during working days or
whenever required additionally as above beyond working days, there shall be a pro-rata
reduction for each day of absence out of their monthly emoluments. Absences from
work of not more than 18 days (subject to prior approval, only) in a year may be allowed
to take care of ill-health or any other personal constraints.

Procedure of Selection:

Candidates will be screened based on their eligibility and in the order of merit. as per
their academic record and experience based on their application form. Screened in
candidates will be called by the service provider for written test, in New Delhi. Based on
the performance in the written test, candidates will be selected for interview by an
expert committee, on the same or next day. No TA/DA will be paid for participating in
the written test/interview. The final selection will be based on the combined
overall performance with weightage of CV, Written test and Interview at 20: 50:30
ratio.
