Training activities

Narrative experiences

DAY 01 (JUNE 14, 2019) FRIDAY

The first day of my On-the-Job Training,Ma’am Vinolinda Lannu, personnel officer of DAR. She oriented me/ gave
me some knowledge about DAR, what it do, how it works, the program of it. She also informed me the officers and
employees of DAR from top management up to the frontline. After that, she told me that I will be assign at STOD
particularly at Accounting Department because this is connected in my course.

In STOD office, it consists of Acting Budget officer ( Ma’am Christine), Acting Cashier- Felicitas M. Grapiza,
Accountant II Mary Ann Quiambao, ARPT I – Rhea Joy S. Ballesteros, and two COS namely Charlene P. Estimada
and Juliene Christine Duro, and the Chief Admin Officer – Ma’am Zeny G. Balauag.

After meeting them, Rhea briefed some things that is related into work, how, what and why’s in work. At first, it is
hard to understand her, some words or terms are familiar offcourse but there are new words that I really don’t know.
Like LDDAP and other terms.

The first work that she assigned to me is to encode Disbursement Voucher date and Number into their system. The
DV is a form from Central Office that has been given to DAR- Nueva Vizcaya and nationwide, This is a standard
form.

After that, She taught me how to check DVs. The signatories, training design, OR#, PO, IAR. With that, I observed
how those documents worked.

DAY 02 (JUNE 17, 2019) MONDAY

Flag ceremony. As usual, what makes is different is that there is a pledge of a government employee. Make some
announcements, and etc.

Almost same as day 1,but this time the DVs are more detailed. I am tasked to the recording part of the accounting
cycle which is the journalizing or the journal entries.the journal entry does not only include the account title itself
but it has the thing called UACS Code. For example, Cash-Modified Disbursement System- Regular 4-01-04-040-

00 the number after the Account title is the UACS Code, this code is computer generated Code from Central office
to be used as reference in the whole process of the disbursement.

After that, Rhea give me the list of the VAT registered and NON-Vat registered outside Creditors of DAR, and also
those who are exempt from VAT. Those Outside creditors who are exempt from VAT are those who passed their
VAT EXEMPTION to BIR to be entitled as VAT EXEMPT. As per Computation, If the Supplier / Outside Creditor
is VAT Registered and engage in the business of Good the computation shall be the Gross multiplied by .05
multiplied by 100 divided by 112 to get the withholding tax. And the Gross multiplied by .01 multiplied by 100
divided by 112 to get the withholding tax. If service, it shall be the Gross multiplied by .05 multiplied by 100 divided
by 112 to get the withholding tax. And the Gross multiplied by .02 multiplied by 100 divided by 112 to get the
withholding tax.

The taxes that has been withhold will be paid to BIR by DAR.

If Non-Vat. Gross x .03 and Gross x .01 if goods, if service it shall be Gross x.03 and Gross x.02, The same tax that
have been withheld will be paid to BIR by Dar.

Why it is say so? The rationale of that is, the government shall secure the payment of the outside creditors to the
BIR. So, in layman’s term. If a government entity transacts with an operating business entity, the net amount that the
business entity will received will be net of tax.

I also checked if there is wrong computation, UACS code or entry in DVs.erm. If a government entity transacts with
an operating business entity, the net amount that the business entity will received will be net of tax.

I also checked if there is wrong computation, UACS code or entry in DVs.

Afterwards, the acting cashier teach me how to index transaction from DV to her file. It was easy because it was just
like your copying a certain code and pasting it into your working paper.

The training develops one’s professionalism in fealing with people an the trainee will be ables to handle
situatuations properly from the experience gained and to work well with collegaues promosting camaraderie.

Working with experienced staff is also great for one will be alble to observe how a job is done professionally.

institutions, even from the lowest to highersst position.

With this program, students are given powerful tools in preparing for the nxt chapter of life as a professional.it

He learned that working is not only doing the job right, it also includes how you dealt with the people. Attitude
plays a vital role in every institution whatever position an employee has.

For almost two months of being an OJT, he will miss the camaraderie that he established with the employees

advices on hos performance rendered, he is inspired and the learning and skill gained on the Internship Program, he
is ready to face the real world ahead.

Recommendation

Choosing a company in lined with your chosen profession is a great thing here. The program is an application
of the theories and frameworks that you’ve learned from the school. It is good that you check the background and
have some feedbacks from former students who undergone through OJT for you to be informed if the task given to
them is related to your chosen profession. Also, the hearsays about the people of the said company is really important,
specially of you are a subtle person, there are things that might disappoint you if you are already there, but just keep
in mind that negativities and stress are just around in every table, so learn to deal with it.
