Track 5

Sport 1: This sport is very popular in some countries, especially in winter. It is a team sport.
The players have to wear helmets and gloves. They also need skates, a stick and a puck. They
have to use the stick to get the puck in the goal. You can watch this sport on TV.
Sport 2: For this game you need two teams. There are eleven players in each team and one
player is the goalkeeper. To play this game you have to pass the ball to another player and to
score goals, but you can’t touch the ball with your hands.
Sport 3: You don’t have to wear any special clothes to do this sport, but you do need
equipment. You can practise it when you are on holiday, for example, in Greece. You need a
mask, a snorkel and flippers. Then you can just enjoy watching fish and sea animals under
water.
Sport 4: This is my favourite sport. It teaches you how to work in a team. You need two
teams, a ball and a net. When you serve, the ball has to go over the net but it can’t touch it. In
tournaments, players wear T-shirts, shorts and trainers. You can also play the game on the
beach and then you only wear a swimsuit and sunglasses.
Sport 5: There are two teams of five players in this game. They have to be quite tall. They
use an orange ball which they have to bounce or throw. To score points the players have to put
the ball in a basket. They usually score two points for each goal.
