A. DRUM TYPE
This type uses the friction by dropping laundries.
Most laundry shops use drum type washing machine.

B. AGITATOR TYPE
There is agitator at center of TUB.

D. PULSATOR TYPE (BIG)

E. AIR BUBBLE PULSATOR TYPE

Air bubble is made by air generator.
When air bubble is bursting,
the pressure and impact are used for better washing effects.

3.Damage of clothes is small
4.There is no remaining of detergent
(2) Type of structure.

A. FULL-AUTO TYPE.
After inserting laundry and detergent,
Press the start button,then all process begins.
That is water supply->wash->drain->spin->stop.
All process is advanced automatically.
B.TWIN-TUB TYPE
There are two tubs. (washing tub, spin tub)
Their function is different.
In washing tub , water supply,wash,drain,rinse are conducted.
In spin tub , only spin process is conducted.

4.PRINCIPLE OF RINSE
The purse of rinse is to remove dirts & detergent from laundry and not stick
again to laundry.
There are two kinds of rinse
(1) OVER FLOW RINSE TYPE
After draining dirty water, the washer supplies clear water continuously.
Then the dirts overflow to out of tub.
(2) SPRAY TYPE
When the pulsator rotates,water supply continues to improve rinse.
Like shower,by suppling water ,the dirts are removed.

1. The purpose of WASHING

Dirts are made by dust and sweat.
When the clothes are dirty, it is bad for health.
Also, the form of clothes is changed.
So the aim of washing is to remove the dirts.
The results are the followings.
(1) It is cool at summer and warm at winter.
(2) Durability is increased by rotating to change form of fiber.

2. The principle of WASHING

Washing is to remove dirts from clothes by chemical reaction.
After dissolving detergent with water, when the clothes are put into the water,
the solvent surrounds the dirts and the separate them.
To promote separation action, we rub the clothes with hand
and beat them or use water currents.

Principles of washing machine
1-1 Full automatic washer
1)Principle of water supply
First, connect water inletvalve and water tap with inlet hose.
Then open water tap and select course.
When the start button is pushed,
water supply continues to low level by MICOM.
After water supply is finished to low level, load sensing begins.
If the user selects the water level at its own,
the load sensing process does not operate,
water is supplied to selected water level.
When the water supply is finished,
wash process begins by rotating motor.
2)Principle of wash process

When the wash motor rotates,

the power is transferred to pulley of gear mechanism with V-belt.
the power of rotation is transferred to pulsator shaft
at low speed by gear unit.
Because the clutch lever restricts clutch,
the power does not transfer to spin shaft.
wash motor rotates at c.w and c.c.w direction by direction of MICOM.

3)Principle of drain
After the decided wash time is passed,
the main power of wash motor is cut
the power is connected to synchronous motor.
When the power is connected to synchronous motor,the bellows is pulled
by synchronous motor.
Water drain begins
and the tub-in rotates by connecting power to spin shaft
the drain time is changed by condition of drain.
Drain time is D + 60 SEC.
D: TIME from trip point to reset point .
60 sec: TIME from reset point to beginning spin time.
4)Principle of spin
After the drain process is finished, the water is removed from laundry
by centrifugal power.
The motor rotates only c.w at spin process.
The R.P.M is 700 approximately.

5)Principle of rinse.
To remove the dirt from laundry ,when the intermediate spin is finished,
the water supply continues again.
There are two kinds of rinse. that is normal rinse and water inlet rinse.

5-1) Normal rinse

After the water is supplied to decided water level,
the pulsator rotates at c.w & c.c.w direction and rinse begins.
5-2) Shower rinse
When the pulsator rotates at c.w & c.c.w direction ,
water supply continues to improve rinse effect.
The function of shower rinse is to enhance the rinse effect
by overflowing the dirts .

1)Principle of wash process
First , set the drain s/w at wash & rinse ,
connect water inlet hole with hose open water tap.
Select water current s/w by laundry and set wash timer proper time .

symptoms If water is not supplied to proper water level for 30 minute,
and IE is displayed on the control panel and the process does not go ahead.
Repair IE means Input Error.
methods 1. Make sure that faucets are turned on.
2. Check the filter is clogged with dirt.
If the filter is clogged with dirt, Clean the filter with brush.
3. Check the voltage and resistance of valve inlet.
4. If all of the above is OK,
the exception is if the water inlet valve or the water level switch is defective.
Washer overflows.
Even though the water level is reach to high level,
Water is supplied continuously.
1. If the water supply continues while the power switch is turn off,
the bellows of valve inlet is deformed.
2. If the water supply starts as soon as the power switch is pressed,
the tri-ac of P.C.B assembly is defective.
3. Check the water level switch's tube hose is leaky or obstructed.
Repair method of Suspension Assembly

** Structure and principle of Bubble Generator
The magnetic pole of transfer core is changed by the change of AC electric power's phase.
The core repeats push and pull of the armature magnetic.
In case of 50Hz : 3,000 times/min.
In case of 60Hz : 3,600 times/min.
- Intake : ARMATURE moves up, and BELLOWS inhales the air,
at the same time, protector B is open and A is close.
- Outlet : ARMATURE moves down, and BELLOWS exhausts the air. At the same time,
protector B is closed and A is opened.

The faulty The bubble generator makes noise.

symptoms Make sure that the air tube is folded.
and Check the fixing state of bubble generator.
Repair And then add pad at under case or replace the bubble generator.
methods
The bubble generator does not operate.
Make sure that the sub-fuse is blown.
Check the Resistance of bubble generator.
Normal resistance is 5.1 §Ú.
The out-put of bubble generator is small.
Check the air leak at connective surface and air hose.
When you replace the bubble generator,
Cut out the expanded air tube and spread the adhesive at connective surface.
Repair method of Gear Mechanism Assembly

The faulty During wash process, the agitator rotates only one direction.
symptoms If the one way clutch bearing of G/M is defective,
and the agitator rotates only one direction and the washer makes big noise.
Repair It is impossible for technicians to replace only the one way clutch bearing.
methods Technicians need to replace the whole gear mechanism assembly.
During wash process, the agitator does not rotate.
Make sure that the capacitor is normal.
Check that the wash motor is normal.
Sometimes the laundry is wound on the shaft of gear mechanism.
So the agitator can not rotate.
During spin process, the Tub-In does not rotate.
Instead of the Tub-In, the agitator rotates.
When only the agitator rotates at spin process,
the clutch spring is defective.
The technicians need to replace only the clutch spring.

and If the oil seal is defective, the lubricant leaks.
Repair So this makes the washer noisy.
methods It is impossible for technicians to replace only the oil seal.

Repair method of Motor synchronous

Function The function is to operate the drain valve at drain and spin process
in order to drain the water.
When the synchronous motor connected to the power source,
the synchronous motor rotates with 900 rpm and revolves the pulley by gear assembly.
When the pulley rotates, the pulley winds the wire to open the drain valve.
When the power is turned off,the drain valve is closed because the wire returns.

The faulty After the wash process, the water is not drained.
symptoms Check that the coil of the synchronous motor.
and If the coil is short circuit, the synchronous motor can not open the valve.
Repair Sometimes the water infiltrates into the coil of synchronous.
methods So, it makes that the coil is short circuit

Finishing the drain process, the water is drained continuously.

1. Make sure that the coil of the synchronous motor is normal.
If the coil is short circuit, the synchronous motor can not open the valve.
2. Check that there is dirt at bellows of drain valve.

There are salt water in the balance ring.

Sometimes the salt water of balance ring leaks,

Repair method of Motor Wash

Function The function is to rotate the agitator at wash process,
and to rotate TUB-IN at spin process.
The motor is the machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy.
Electric motor consists of a conducting loop mounted on a non-conducting shaft.
Current fed to carbon brushes enters the loop through two slip rings.
A magnetic field around the loop,supplied by an iron-core field magnet
,causes the loop to turn when current flows through it.

symptoms The agitator does not rotate at wash process.
The tub-in does not rotate at spin process.

Although agitator or tub-in rotate,
speed of revolution is very slow.

methods Make sure that the coil of motor wash is normal.

Check that the capacitor is normal.

This switch controls the water level by using of L-C oscillation.
The water pressure is sensed through pressure from the lower portion of the tub.

The faulty Case ¥°. E9 is displayed on the control panel and the process does not progress.
symptoms If the water level switch or P.C.B assembly is defective, E9 is displayed.
Case ¥±. The washer lets water fill continuously.
Even though the water level is high level,
the washer does not stop filling water.
Repair Case ¥°. Check the frequency and voltage of water level switch.
methods Normal voltage : D.C 5¡-6 V
Normal frequency : 22.52 ¡- 25.76 §Õ
If the water level is normal and P.C.B assembly is defective,
Also E9 is displayed on the control panel.
Because the P.C.B.can not receive the signal from water level switch.
At this time, replace the P.C.B assembly.
Case ¥±. Make sure that the water level switch's hose is folded or not.
If the hose is folded between plate top and cabinet,
the water is supplied continuously.
Because the water pressure is not transfered to the water level switch.
When you replace the water level switch,
cut out the expanded air tube and apply bond connective surface.
Check point Check 1. The air hose is folded or leaky.
before 2. The sealing state of intake hole at water level switch.
repairing 3. The sealing state of hole at TUB-OUT.

1) When the lid is closed, the safety switch contact is "ON" position.
2) If wash loads get uneven during spin, the outer tub hits the safety switch
due to the serious vibration, and the spin process is interrupted.
3) If the P.C.B assembly gets "OFF" signal from the safety switch,
spin process is stopped and rinse process is started automatically.
4) If the safety switch is operated due to the unbalance of the tub,
the program is stopped

The faulty Case 1. UE is displayed on the control panel and the process does not go ahead.
symptoms UE means Unbalance Error.

Repair 1. Make sure that the laundry is distributed evenly.

methods 2. Check the contact point of switch safety.
If the point of contact is so sensitive ,please adjust the angle of lever.
Check the out-voltage of switch safety. normal voltage is D.C 15 V.

Check point 1. What is the error signal ?

before 2. Make sure washer Is level and firm to the floor.
repairing 3. Check the point of contact at safety switch.
4. Does the hinge of door operate normally?
Repair method of Motor cafacitor
Part Name Motor Capacitor
Function The capacitor is the device for storing electric charge.
If an electric POTENTIAL (voltage) is applied to the capacitor plates,
the plates will become charged, one positively and one negatively.
If the externally applied voltage is then removed, the capacitor plates remain charged,
and the electric charge induces an electric potential between the two plates.
The function is to start rotating the wash motor.

The faulty Case ¥°.

symptoms The agitator (wash motor) does not rotate.
The spin process does not progress.

Repair Case ¥°.

methods 1. Make sure that the connector of capacitor is normal.
If the connection of capacitor is not normal,
the agitator(wash motor) does not rotate.
2. Check that the power voltage is normal.
3. Check the v-belt is normal.
If the v-belt is not put on the pulley normally,
the power is not transfered to the agitator.
Repair method of P.C.B Assembly
