JOB OPENING:
PROJECT COORDINATOR FOR E-WASTE MANAGEMENT
The Project Coordinator for E-Waste Management IECs will be in charge of an ongoing UNIDO project
aimed at promoting e-waste management through awareness-raising activities.
His/her tasks will involve preparing and monitoring project plans and schedules, budgets and
expenditures, organizing and participating in stakeholder meetings, networking, media work, report
writing, and ensuring that project deadlines are met.
He/she should also facilitate Ecowaste Coalition’s member support in project activities and represent
the organization in related external events and activities.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
At least two (2) years of relevant proven experience
Be able to work on tight deadlines
Competent in using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
Ability to engage various stakeholders belonging to diverse sectors
Strategic thinker with demonstrated skills in situation analysis and employing multi-faceted
campaign strategies.
Familiarity with environmental justice principles and practices, especially on zero waste and
chemical safety
Strong writing and public speaking skills, with an ability to simplify messages and communicate
complex issues to the public.
Ability to successfully direct a project and/or a program from conception to completion.
Commitment to EWC’s mission and core values, including a passion for environmental justice
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Skills in conceptualizing and implementing IECs effectively
Strategic planning and facilitation skills.
Tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
Experience with waste and chemicals campaigns (POPs, Heavy metals, EDCs among others)
Excellent logistical support and networking skills.
Analytic on issues and campaigns
Highly computer literate with database background, and comfortable with new media technologies
and extensive use of online communication (primarily e-mail, social media, Skype and other online
tools).
Ability to work in a team and able to multi-task
