CHAPTER IV
Presentation, Analysis, and Interpretation of Data

This chapter will discuss about the presentation, analysis and interpretation of data

in order to determine the acceptability of Sugar as an Alternative Hair Removal wax.

The presentation of the major findings is based on the order in accordance to the

statement of the problem namely: 1.) What are the materials needed in making Sugar as an

Alternative Hair Removal Wax? 2.) What are the step by step processes in making Sugar

as an Alternative Hair Removal Wax? 3.) What is the level of acceptability in terms of

safety and functionality? 4.) What is the level of acceptability as rated by the respondents

as such male and female? 5.) Is there a significant difference on the level of acceptability

in terms of safety and functionality? 6.) Is there a significant difference on the level of

acceptability as rated by the respondents as such male and female? In order to simplify the

discussions, the researcher provided tables that summarize the collective reactions of the

respondents.

1. Pour white sugar (200 g), lemon juice (60 ml) into the hot stir to combine them.

2. Turn the gas stove on high and let the mixture heat up and until it starts to boil. Stir
frequently.

3. Once the mixture starts to bubbling and boiling reduce the heat to medium.

4. When the mixture turns golden brown remove the pot from heat

Based on the data gathered in table 3, it shows the mean, standard deviation, and

the interpretation for each statement on the questionnaire for the acceptability of Sugar as

an Alternative Hair Removal wax in terms of safety. With a mean of 4.6 and a standard

deviation of 0.60, Sugar as Alternative Hair Removal Wax is organic and has a verbal

interpretation of Very Safe. The second statement has a standard deviation of 0.69 and a

mean of 4.5 with the verbal interpretation of Very Safe. It does not leave irritation to

respondents’ skin with a mean of 4.3 and a standard deviation of 0.92 and has a verbal

interpretation of Very Safe. Moreover, with a standard deviation of 0.86 and a mean of 4,

Sugar wax leaves the skin smooth and has a verbal interpretation of Safe. Lastly Sugar as

an Alternative Hair Removal Wax does not leave marks and scars with a mean of 4.25 and

a standard deviation of 0.97 and has a verbal interpretation of Very Safe. With the

calculated weighted mean of 4.33, the researcher found that the use of Sugar as an

Alternative Hair Removal Wax in terms of Safety is Very Safe.

Results of the survey indicate that the Sugar as an Alternative Hair Removal Wax

is very safe. As answered by the most Male and Female:” The Sugar as an Alternative

Hair Removal Wax is organic”.

According to Naomi Torres (2018) Sugaring hair removal is an ancient Middle

Eastern practice that uses an all-natural paste or gel made from sugar, water, and lemon

juice, and sometimes honey, salt, and essentials oils. It removes the hair follicle from the

root with results that can last up to six weeks.

Functional. It easily sticks to the skin with a mean of 4.3 and a standard deviation of 0.66

and has a verbal interpretation of Very Functional. Moreover, with a standard deviation of

0.60 and a mean of 4.45, Sugar wax can cling to the hair and has a verbal interpretation of

Very Functional. Lastly Sugar as an Alternative Hair Removal Wax is easy to use with a

mean of 4.8 and a standard deviation of 0.52 and has a verbal interpretation of Very

Functional. With the calculated weighted mean of 4.49, the researcher found that the use

of Sugar as an Alternative Hair Removal Wax in terms of Functionality is Very Functional.

Most of the Men and Female agreed that “ It is simple and easy to use”.

According to an article by Mejos (2018) stated that waxing is more better than

shaving and has more cleaner and better side effects. Waxing is more suggested with its

better procedure and better results on removing excess hair with slow growth phase.

Based on the data gathered in table 5, it shows the mean, standard deviation, and

the interpretation for each statement on the questionnaire for the acceptability of Sugar as

an Alternative Hair Removal wax in terms of safety as rated by Male. With a mean of 4.5

and a standard deviation of 0.71, Sugar as Alternative Hair Removal Wax is organic and

has a verbal interpretation of Very Safe. The second statement has a standard deviation of

0.70 and a mean of 4.6 with the verbal interpretation of Very Safe. It does not leave

irritation to respondents’ skin with a mean of 4.5 and a standard deviation of 0.53 and has

a verbal interpretation of Very Safe. Moreover, with a standard deviation of 0.63 and a

mean of 4.2, Sugar wax leaves the skin smooth and has a verbal interpretation of Safe.

Lastly Sugar as an Alternative Hair Removal Wax does not leave marks and scars with a

mean of 4 and a standard deviation of 1.15 and has a verbal interpretation of Safe. With

the calculated weighted mean of 4.36, the researcher found that the use of Sugar as an

Alternative Hair Removal Wax in terms of Safety as rated by Male is Very Safe.

Results of the survey indicate that the Sugar as an Alternative Hair Removal Wax

is very safe. As answered by the most of the Male:” The product is safe for the skin”.

of Very Functional. With the calculated weighted mean of 4.48, the researcher found that

the use of Sugar as an Alternative Hair Removal Wax in terms of Functionality as rated by

Male is Very Functional.
