Introduction
Backround of Study
Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them is based on a book by the same name that was
written by J.K Rowling in 2001. The book itself is supposed to be the textbook that Harry had to
purchase in the first novel, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, and was written by the
“magizoologist” Newt Scamander. In the textbook, Scamander details his journeys across five
continents and the discovery of 85 magical species from around the world.
In an interview with scholastic in 2001, Rowling said she chose the topic of magical creatures
because it was a subject that fascinated her when she was writing the original series and already
had much if it planned out. After success with the book, finally this story was made a movie
with the same title collaboration of the authors of the novel J.K Rowling and Warner Bros
Entertainment. The first movie premiere in November 2016 and getting profits more than 500
million dollars. The focus in this movie it is Newt Scamander as the main story character, so that
is why i choose him for my focus topic.
Newt Scamander was born in London 1897 and Started studying at Hogwarts magic shool in
1908. Scamander began to show interest in magic creatures since childhood. His mother was a
hippogrif farmer, hippogriff is an animal with an eagle’s body and a horse’s horsetail. At the age
of 7, Scamander had been busy chopping horklump in his bedroom. He is so interesting about
After graduating from Hogwarts school, Scamander worked in the Ministry of Magic in the
Department for regulation and Control of Magic Creatures for two years, After that, he was
transferred to the Wild Animal Division and immediately found his world there. He was even
very quick to get a promotion because of his extensive knowledge of magic animals.

Theorecal Basis
According to Ryan (2016) Newt Scamander is part of a change in the magic world. Which is
he is part of change people who make magic save from nomaj/muggles (people who did not have
a magic ability).
According to Franz and Meier (1996) films as a genre of children's literature are referred to as
literature on children & children and adolescents in audio-visual media. Audio visual media is an
informant indirectly the media as messenger but usually cannot provide feedback two-way

enhance it into its own media.Film does not intend to present a picture of reality
appropriately.The film is mainly intended to realize the intentions intended by the filmmaker
when producing it. respectively, and from these elements the whole composition occurs first &
foremost determined not taking pictures. this is divided into two types of shooting (shooting,
namely: thorough shooting or total shooting; (view: total; about what happened and close
shooting or detailed shooting (for example an object that needs special attention from the
audience as well as a large photo shoot (for example to put pressure on the disclosure of one's
face and movement, allowing those given in-room shooting, especially those related to shooting
people (total body and half close shooting big shots and close shooting, again the director's goal
means very big and decisive. various ways of taking pictures, the director can enter dramatic,
explorative, descriptive, psychological, etc. during times in the game.The choice of camera
placement as a single film interspersed with these two pieces is also nothing but a means of
disclosure of the director about: the object; pat again if it is about his attitude and view of the
object to be shown.
According to Freud (2000) personality is the prioritization of the subconscious that is outside the
conscious, which influences the structure of thinking colored by emotion. a person's behavior is
merely the surface of his characteristics, so that in order to understand one's personality deeply, a
symbolic gesture and a deeper thought must be observed from that person. Freud divided the
personality theory into two, namely! 1.subconscious human mind is more influenced by the
subconscious and unconscious mind than the conscious and conscious mind therefore, the
subconscious is the key to understanding human behavior. dream theory, dreams have a special
role in the study of literary psychology. Literature is born of dreams and fantasies. Dreams can
affect a person's behavior. Dreams are a representation of conflict and tension in everyday life.
According to Jude law (2016) This film is very rich in stories from the past. There are many
parts that show how this film is connected with Potter's story, "

Conclusion
So this movie just not tell about science fiction genre but more than it, and this movie
concern to the main character it is Newt Scamander as a animal magic guide and he have many
secret character in him self like he can not destroyer and so powerful magic and he have
kindfulness heart help each other and of course his puppet.
