KFD2 S0T2 Ex2

This document provides technical specifications for a 2-channel intrinsically safe barrier model KFD2-SOT2-Ex2. It has two discrete input channels that can accept signals from proximity sensors or switches located in hazardous areas. Each input controls a passive transistor output in the safe area. The device provides isolation between the hazardous and safe areas, and has options for lead breakage and short circuit monitoring. It is suitable for Division 2/Zone 2 installations and complies with various international safety certifications.

Weight 5.3 oz. (≈ 150 g)
AMBIENT TEMPERATURE -4°F to +140°F (-20°C to +60°C) For a mechanical contact, LB monitoring can be selected
by placing a 10 kΩ resistor across the mechanical contact
in the field and moving switch S3 to position I on the
barrier. SC monitoring is added by placing a 400Ω-2 kΩ
resistor in series with the mechanical contact. NAMUR
proximity sensors, however, are designed with the LB and
Engineer's Guide (page 7) SC functions, making external resistors unnecessary. In
