EMVCo-qualified and Visa-confirmed L3 Test Tools

1. EMVCo-qualified Level 3 Test Tool Components

In January 2018, EMVCo announced the availability of its new Level 3 Test Tool qualification testing service, initially in support of L3 Card
Simulators in compliance with the EMV Level 3 Testing Framework – Implementation Guidelines, then later extended to include qualification of
L3 Test Tool (L3 TT) Engines in August 2018. With the availability of these new EMVCo-managed services, Visa is now encouraging vendors
of L3 test tools to seek qualification of their tools through the new EMVCo process. Such qualifications have now become a prerequisite to
supporting Visa’s L3 toolkits, as test cases related to these toolkits are now being provided in the EMVCo-defined Level 3 machine readable
formats.

1.1. Benefits of the EMVCo Process

With this new process, it is expected that lead-times for availability of test tools supporting Visa’s latest L3 testing requirements, and ultimately
their readiness for client use, will be significantly reduced. The new processes leverage the benefits of a standardized L3 test tool platform that
eliminates a need for repeated, time-consuming qualification testing efforts by Payment Systems each time a new set of testing requirements
is released.

1.2. Current List of EMVCo-qualified Test Tools

While it’s primarily the responsibility of EMVCo to update and maintain the current list of L3 test tools that have been qualified through its
process, for convenience to users, Visa is also providing a current list of EMVCo-qualified tool components in the tables below.

3. Product and Services Definitions
