2. Pre- Optimisation Activities:
These are the base activities that need to be carried out before a full-fledged campaign can begin.

Another important aspect of SEO work is site indexation by the major search engines. To reach your
potential audience via search engines, the website and any additional pages not directly accessible
need to be added to the search engine databases. Without this happening correctly a site cannot gain
any organic site traffic from search engines.

clearly shown its affinity for larger websites.
Proper Optimized Meta Tags should be implemented.

2.2 – Current Link Popularity:
Meaning:
Link popularity is measured based upon the number and weight of inbound links to the page.
Importance:
Link popularity has a great influence to page visibility in search engines and they calculate link
popularity based upon proprietary algorithms. To increase link popularity, a web page must have a
sound number of inbound links from high quality sites. These links can be both from brand websites,
as well as external or 3rd party referrals.

Keyword analysis is an important phase needed for Website Optimization and consists of the
following:

<HEAD> section is important from an SEO perspective as it provides information for search engines
to determine the page theme, instructions to indexing the pages. The ideal <HEAD> section should
content the various tags in following manner
1 – Title Tag
2 – Description Tag
3 – Keywords Tag
4 – Important instruction for Search Engine spiders
3.2 Optimized Titles and Meta < Keywords? And < Description> Tags:
Title and Descriptions are very important areas of Optimization. Title and Descriptions should be
unique for all the pages using targeted keyword phrases. It’s always recommended to have unique
Title and Description Tags for each by discovering the popular keywords based on page theme.
Once the targeted keywords are defined, it is recommended to change the title, keyword and
description Meta tags to use appropriate key phrases.
Current Scenario:
At present 10 Key Things, does not have proper Optimized Meta Tags on the Home Page. An
urgent need exists to revamp all On-Page Optimization for pages that are relevant and important
from the SEO stand point. Meta tags play a very important role in making your site visible on search
engines.
Action Point:
We will revisit and redo all the Meta tags of all the pages and make them more SEO friendly plus
User friendly. We will also highlight your USPs in the Meta tags. This will help in inviting clicks on
our website.
3.3 ALT Tags:
Search engine spiders cannot understand any type of written forms of Images and/or graphics so Alt
tags are used to describe the images on your website.
Current Scenario:
ALT tags have been used on your website, however, they are not done in an efficient manner. Alt
tags if used properly can help the website in getting better organic listings.
Action Point:
We will revisit and redo all the image Alt tags of all the appropriate pages and make them more SEO
friendly plus User friendly as well.
Another very important tag to give “weight” to key phrases you want to target are Heading tags.
There No is use of the Heading tag <h1>, <h2> etc. throughout the current site which is Not Good.
Action Point:
We will revisit and inform you as to where and how we need the h1 tags to be implemented.
We find that currently the site has very few pages. For Google, the size of the site does matter. Hence
it would be best advised to ensure that we have AS MANY Content rich pages as possible on our
website. We would strongly recommend that we have at least 100-200 pages on our website. The
more the better.
To obtain listings for the key phrases selected, the text of a site must support those terms, preferably
on more than one page. A definite need to have the content in the top half of the page since it helps in
increasing keyword relevancy. Content on each page should be of at least 200-300 words.
At present, 10 Key Things does NOT have much content across the inner pages. Considering the
competition on our set of keywords, it would be best advised to revisit each of these pages and
ensure that we have add at least 200-300 more words of content OR edit the current content and
wedge in our keywords in it.
Action Point:
We will guide you on how the content should be and where it should be placed for optimum
placements in the search engines.
3.7 Content to Code Ratio:
Google uses the C2C ratio in its algorithm to rank websites. Currently the C2C ratio on our individual
web pages is very low. An urgent need exists to increase the C2C ratio on our web pages.
The homepage C2C ratio is 3.42%, which is extremely Low. Ideally the C2C ratio should be 30% or
more. Ideal scenario is 60%
Action Point:
We will guide you on how this can be further improved.
Currently, the interlinking between your inner pages is good. However, it should be further
improved. A pronounced need exists to ensure that Google can easily access other inner pages of our
website.
We need to offer Google more than one way to access any page of our website. This will also help
improve the link reputation of the inner pages.
Action Point:
We will guide you on how this can be further enhanced to achieve better placements.
At present, there is very little content on the Homepage. The homepage is the MOST important page
not only from the user perspective, but also from the Google perspective. Hence there is a definite
need to ensure that we have at least 500 words of STATIC content on our Homepage.
For Google, content is KING, Considering the competition on our keywords, we require at least 500
words of STATIC content on our Homepage with our keywords properly sprinkled across it. We will
guide you on this can be best done.
Action Point: We will guide you on how to increase content on our homepage.
Page size refers to actual size/weight of the page with significantly affects the page loading time
during the page request. Sometimes pages containing heavy images and objects results in Page
Timeout errors. The size of the home page of 10 Key Things is 20 KB which is Low and Good.
Ideally the page size should be under 20KB for faster indexing.
Google has now gone on record that it would use loading time of a site as a quality signal. It would
be best advised to undergo a GZIP HTML Compression across all our MOST IMP pages.
Action Point:
GZIP HTML Compression is highly advised.
3.11 Link Distance Improvement:
Link distance refers to the number of links a user clicks to reach a page. Less the link distance better
the chances of that page to come on top.
Solution:
We need to ensure that our inner set of pages link to one other properly with proper anchor text. The
website navigation needs to be improved to ensure that any page on our website is maximum only 2
links away from any page.
Action Point:
We will provide keyword rich text links at the bottom of each page to ensure that Google can parse
into all the important pages of our website with ease.
This involves that sites are accessible by the browser with the www prefix or without www. If the
domain setup is not proper then search engine handles the domain URL and www domain URL are
considered as two separate web pages. If both of the pages are indexed by Google there is a chance of
penalty of duplicate content as well as link popularity can be divided if the few links are pointing to
domain URL and few pointing to domain URL with www.
Currently, www.10keythings.com opens the same page with www and without www which is not
good from Google Perspective. To avoid this, one of the two URLs should be given a permanent
redirection (301) to the other URL
(www.10keythings.com– Recommended).
3.14 Use of DIV Tags (Strongly Recommended):
There is a very smart way to push the content up in the source code by placing the content in the div
tags and then placing the div tags at the top in the source code. To the user, the page is open just as
normal. However, Google will be able to index the content much before it reads all the JavaScript.
This will help immensely in improving the Keyword Relevancy of the website which in turn will help
us attain top positions faster.
4) Site off- Page Optimization:
Off page Optimization is the process of achieving quality links to your website.
This has two benefits;
1. If resulted properly, it in extra traffic coming into a site via external links.
2. Search engines and particularly Google will consider each link as a vote and evaluates it in its
ranking algorithm. In other words, the more the references to a website (or more accurately a
webpage’s) in other pertinent and authoritative websites the better.
Using key phrases in the internal links and external links (those pointing to the site) can dramatically
help SEO rankings. The more text links might be considered in the bottom page, copy and in the
footer that contain targeted key phrases.
We recommend utilizing keyword as anchor text to link various pages for the purpose of better
anchor text Optimization and interlinking of the pages through the contents.

The site map provides a guide for the search engines to find, crawl and index pages easily. Having a
site map acts as an alternative way to index the website and improve its ranking. There is NO HTML

Since the website is Big, and it would keep increasing every day, hence its best advised to create an
XML sitemap every week and get it updated and submitted in Google and Bing via Google
Webmaster Tools and Bing Webmaster Tools respectively.
We will research and prepare a list of all the relevant press release websites these press release
websites act as a good source for getting innumerable visitors to our website. Some press releases
also include quality one way inbound links to your website.
