Create a sprocket 3D model (Martin sprocket 140B11)

Open solidworks> new part

Select a front plane to create a 2D sketch You need these data to create the sprocket

Create lines with dimension as in the picture

Click on the dimension to change the dimension name and add some text as shown in the picture

Click on a revolve icon

Click OK

Create A new sketch on the blue surface as shown in the picture

Draw the art R12.7 and two lines 30° with the center line, then ended with a curve

On the sketch add relations as shown in the picture

Remark: R12.7 is a roller chain radius

Click on the Extruded Cut

Click OK

Click on the Circular pattern

Click OK

Change the Circular pattern dimension name


Click right mouse on the Annotation and show Feature Dimensions
Look for no.11 the dimensions name is D1@CirPattern1
Change the dimensions to Z@CirPattern1

Create a sprocket configuration


Go to: Insert>Table>Design Table

Follow with all default data (this step need Ms Excel)


Click OK

Click OK

Rearrange columns as show in the photo

Click the mouse at anywhere in a working area


The table will appear in the configuration manager
You can edit data inside the design table anytime you need

Add more data into the design table


Go to: Configuration manager>Click the right mouse on the design table>Edit Table in New Window

Click OK to skip this dialog box

Ms Excel will appear ready to add data

Click Save and close the Excel file


Click OK a dialog box
New configuration will appear in
The configuration manager

Click Save the file


Create new an Assembly file and insert the sprocket into the file (Just for test)

Congratulations, you've finished your Matin sprocket No.140 configulation
