Function of Communication

This lesson plan aims to teach grade 11 students about the functions of communication. It will have the students identify and explain the five functions of communication, which are regulation/control, social interaction, motivation, information, and emotional expression. To do this, the teacher will give a presentation using PowerPoint and videos, followed by group activities where students role play applying the different functions. Finally, students will take a short quiz to test their understanding by identifying the function being demonstrated in different situations.

I. Objective
At the end of the lesson, the learners should be able to:
 Tell the importance of Functions of communication in life
 Enumerate the Functions of Communication
 identify the different Functions of Communication and;
 Apply the functions of communication through role playing.

The teacher will ask the students to sum up the past lesson.

C. Motivation
 The students will be group into three and each group will have their 10
representatives and they will play the game “Charades in a form of pass
the message”.
 The teacher will explain the mechanics of the game.
Activities

information?
2. What is our lesson for today?
D. Lesson Proper
The teacher will discuss the lesson “Functions of communication” using
Power Point Presentation and he will flash a Video Presentation
followed by the guide questions.

Guide Questions:

The students will seek the following questions:

1. Why it is important to know the Functions of Communication?


2. What are the 5 Functions of Communication? Explain
3. How can you use regulation and control in communicating?
E. Application
The teacher ask the students to perform a role play with their same group and
they will apply the different function of communication.

How can you use the functions of communication in conversing with other?
