Production Planner - Job Profile

Overview

Ergo is looking for dedicated, compelling, and diligent individuals help push the company forward and
grow to become future leaders as multiple locations are being franchised.
The Production Planner is responsible for production planning, material expediting, manufacturing
scheduling and labor/capacity planning. He will not only participate, but take a lead role in continuous
improvement activities of diverse scope and complexity to improve the efficiency of manufacturing
systems and processes. In addition, they will monitor production work order progress and identify
possible problem areas in time to take corrective action.

Duties/Responsibilities

 Plan, schedule, coordinate and approve release of production orders to manufacturing based on
material and capacity availability.
 Provide input to management; reschedule and/or interface with customer program management,
master scheduling, customers and operations to reschedule production in the event of design
changes, labor and material shortages, backlogs and other potential schedule interruptions.
 Utilize ERP software and supporting worksheets that support production planning, capacity
planning, and operational management.
 Develop, select and/or customize continuous improvement methods to effectively implement lean
manufacturing for varied production and business processes.
 Analyze customer demand information, forecasts, orders, machine, labor and material availability
and develop a flexible yet efficient master schedule.
 If needed expedite equipment and materials to ensure customer deliveries are in accordance with
schedule.
 Interface with the Engineering team to receive technical support during manufacturing and
delivery of product.

Qualifications

 Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing or Operational Management


 Atleast 3 years of experience in manufacturing environment.
 Ability to work on a variety of problems of diverse scope and complexity where analysis and
evaluation of various outcomes require tradeoffs and negotiation.
 Demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication skills; a strong team player.
 Excellent manufacturing ERP systems knowledge coupled with general PC skills mainly MS
Office; MS Project experience is a plus.
 APICS / Lean / Six Sigma certifications preferred.
 Knowledge of manufacturing (both discrete and continuous) principles and operations.
The JUNIOR PRODUCTION PLANNER is responsible to develop and establish an integrated production
plan and schedule to satisfy Customer Demand and keep inventories at optimal level while ensuring a
relatively stable load for workforce under Production planner’s Supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Include the following but under supervision. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Making sure each operation meets shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.
2. Planning and scheduling workflow for each work center according to established manufacturing
routings and lead times.
3. Determining the status of assigned projects.
4. Ensures all parties are fully cognizant of production status, and that work planning and execution
objectives are integrated and communicated.
5. Schedules, expedites and coordinates the delivery and movement of critical material, including material
transfers and conditional material releases.
6. Monitors, analyzes and reports performance to schedule of production and production support
activities, utilizing information derived from material and production control systems.
7. Coordinates placement of purchase orders and/or delivery of material.

QUALIFICATIONS

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret blueprints and technical procedures. Ability to write reports such as
production plan, production schedule and shipment plan.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply qualitative and quantitative tools to do a forecast, production plans, schedules and
capacity reports.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an
extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract
and concrete variables.
