    The idiom activity is played by having one student read the start idiom definition card, and other students matching their idiom cards to complete the definition until all cards are matched.

    TEACHER DIRECTIONS:
    Thank you for downloading this freebie! It is a great fun way to
    practice common idioms with your students. There are 32 total cards.
    Typically you (as the teacher) would keep the beginning and finish card
    and split the rest up between your students. It is okay for kids to have
    more than one card.

    To start, read the first card. The student with the matching idiom would
    then read their card and so on. This would continue until the finish idiom
    card matches a definition.

    You can also play this activity in a small group. Simply lay all of the cards
    face up on a table (mix them around first) and have students “spot” the
    idiom card that completes the definition and then have them read the
    next idiom. Continue until all cards have been picked up off of the table.
