3gpp Specification Numbering

The 3GPP specification numbering scheme uses a 4 or 5 digit number to identify specifications. The first two digits define the specification series, such as 21 for requirements, 24 for signaling protocols between UE and network, and 25 for radio aspects. The remaining digits provide more detail within each series. For example, the 25 series for radio aspects uses sub-series like 25.1xx for RF performance and 25.2xx for physical layer 1.

All 3G and GSM specifications have a 3GPP specification number consisting of 4 or 5 digits. (e.g. 09.02 or
29.002). The first two digits define the series as listed in the table below.
