illiterate district of India & being a female, I had to face many hardships to be where I am
today and I am proud to be here. My goal in life is to be at a decision-making position in a
reputed firm and earn the respect of the society. In my free time I like to watch series and
movies and listen to music. I also like to play table tennis. I am an honest, disciplined,
punctual and composed person.
Question 2:
Mention 3 strengths. State one instance associated with each.
1. Honesty - During my 10th std I was given a chance to be the best student of that year
by being dishonest and nobody would have known if I did that but I chose the high
road because honesty is what I believe in.
2. Punctuality – During four years of my college, I never missed my college bus, not
even once and always reached college before time. This shows how punctual I am.
3. Dedication – I achieved third place at district level in my 10th board examination and
cleared CAT examination recently. This shows how dedicated I am towards my work.
Question 3:
Mention 3 weaknesses. State how you plan to work on each of those weaknesses.
1. Indolence – I try to procrastinate my work all the time because I am lazy and I love to
sleep. But after joining IIM Rohtak the one thing I cannot afford is to be indolent and
this weakness has almost faded away in the past few days.
2. Expect too much from others – I easily start expecting way too much from a person
even if he/she has just become my friend and that is what results in me feeling bad
about myself all the time. But now I have started thinking a lot about myself and not
caring what other people think of me and do for me.
3. Too sensitive: I am too sensitive person; I react to almost all kind of situations
immediately and keep thinking about it for long. I easily get attached to people and
get emotional about things. But I am working on this thing and now I don’t trust
people easily and don’t let any situation or person affect me easily. I have started
meditating to keep myself composed and calm.
Question 4:
What are your short term (3-5 years) and long term goals (10-15 years)?
Short term goals: My short term goal is to become a successful HR manager in a
reputed firm and be at a position where my skills contribute positively to the growth
of the firm and also earn a respectable position in society through my work.
Long term goals: My long term goal is to be at one of the topmost decision making
positions in a firm and I also want to contribute to the welfare of under privileged
people either by starting an NGO or through monetary helps to the existing ones. My
other long term goal is to travel to the most amazing places in the world.
Question 5:
Give an instance when you stepped in, took charge, mustered support & influenced the
outcome of a project by taking on a leadership role.
During my final year project in engineering any of my four teammates including me had no
idea how to start and finish that project since we all were not that good in coding and
programming. My teammates almost gave up and did not want to continue the project but I
wanted to finish it even if we had to face many hardships so I motivated them we took
guidance of our teachers and friends and finally completed the project successfully.
Question 6:
What has been your greatest achievement? Justify.
My greatest achievement till now has been to clear CAT and interviews and finally be in such
a prestigious institution of national importance. During preparation for CAT, I had to go
through some unfortunate situations in my personal life and still I tried my best and made it
through. I am the first female to be in an IIM from Alirajpur, my hometown and this makes
me really proud. By achieving all this I have made my parents proud and happy this is my
greatest achievement.
Question 7:
What decisions have you most regretted? Why?
The decision that I regret most is to put in 2 years of my life for preparation of JEE to get into
an IIT which unfortunately did not happen. During these two years I decided to skip regular
school and go for a dummy one that was the biggest mistake made since I missed the most
important two years of school life for nothing. Though I was not so mature at that time and
did what everyone suggested me to do, this is the decision I regret most.
Question 8:
Tell us about a situation when you faced an ethical dilemma and how you overcame it?
Since I am a fresher I haven’t faced an ethical dilemma related to work practices yet but the
only dilemma I could remember of is the one I mentioned above that during my 10 th
standard I had a choice of being the best student of that year and make my parents proud
but for that I had to lie and be dishonest which nobody would have known if I had done that
thing. But I did not lie and cheated as it was the wrong way to earn something therefore I
took the high road because morals and ethics are the most important things in my life.
Question 9:
Why Finance/Marketing/Consulting/HR/Operations/IT? (Answer according to your first
preference of specialization)
I plan to take HR as specialization in my second year because I can relate most of my skills to
it like I am an organized and meticulous person who loves to manage people and co-
ordinate things. I am a friendly person and knows how to deal with people and that is what
an HR has to do efficiently all the time. The task of recruiting, interviewing, training and
handling employee related problems in a company is what an HR basically does and this
interests me the most. This is the reason why I am attracted more towards this
specialization.
Question 10:
What are your key interests? What have you done till now to pursue them? (Describe
instances)
1. One interest which I am really passionate about is travelling. I love travelling to new
places and visit new people, try different type of cuisines. Travelling fascinates me
most and as mentioned above it is my dream to travel to the most amazing places in
the world. Till now I have travelled to many beautiful places in India like Ladakh,
Kerala, Manali, Uttarakhand etc. After completing my MBA and getting a good job I
plan to travel the world on my own.
2. The second thing which excites me the most is Adventures. I am fascinated by
different kind of adventures we can do and challenge ourselves to overcome our
fears and dare to do things which scares people the most. Though I have not got
many chances yet to pursue too many adventures, I have done paragliding, river-
rafting till now and I plan to pursue my other interests as soon as I get a chance.
Question 11:
Which is your dream company and why do you want to join it?
My dream company is Amazon where I plan to get a job someday as an HR. As it is a big
multinational technology company that focuses on ecommerce, cloud computing etc. and
among the Big Four technology companies getting a job there will be a dream come true. An
HR of such a big company will have to face a lot of challenges in recruiting competent
people as employees, training and managing such a large employee base will also be
another task of responsibility. Being in such a big company I will have to overcome lot of
hardships and push myself to my fullest potential and that is the level I aspire to be at. I want
to ‘Work hard. Have fun. Make history’.
