Story

Karan is a second generation Businessman. He joined his family business after


completing his graduation from Kirorimal College. His dad and uncle set up a
sweet shop in early 70's which grew to a fast food joint serving South Indian,
Chinese and Chat. It is a two floor joint and does brisk business.

Karan is inspired by use of technology in dining business that he experienced


on his trip to Europe for his Honeymoon and wants to bring it to India, along
with the idea of expansion in Gurgaon, Noida and South Delhi. He wants to
expand into fusion food and fine dining but his risk averse dad and uncle veto
the concept. They want to continue with the statusquo and also feel that
expansion plans need to be taken forward slowly, perhaps with another joing
opening in Noida, which should be take care by Karan.

Karan is frustrated but persistent. He has recently used Plutus Smart on one of
his outings with his friends to a upmarket crafted Beer joint and delighted with
the experience. He believes that it will greatly help him collect the customer
feedback and implement new ideas.

He also thinks that he can use it it multiple ways, such as asking customer his
favorite dish and then offering it to surprise his customer, the next time they
visit. He can think of many instances where he feels that he can use this POS
to delight his customers and take their loyalty to next level.

Perhaps, that will convince his Dad. Also, he feels that the price point is right
as he gets much more out of this terminal at a minimal cost every month. For a
small difference, the offerings are huge and possibilities excite Karan.

Frustrations
Karan is dependent on his elders for permission but believes in the power of
pestering.

Older generation does not understand the value of this terminal but Karan gets it.
Cash is still king for Karan's dad.

Pain Points

Slower payment system slows down the business.


Customers get frustrated and leave the shop. This is a loss to the business.

Motivators

Instant customer feedback is something that he loves and believe that it can be a
game changer in the food business.
 Karan is sold on the daily settlement feature and believes that for an added little
extra cost, this is a small price to pay.
