Unit 8: On the farm

Title of the lesson: Revision

Type of lesson: systematization and revision of knowledge

Aims: by the end of the lesson students will be able to


- develop and practice the productive skills and the receptive skills
- practice in context the grammatical structure (can/can’t, the plural of
nouns)
Objectives:
Cognitive:
 use in sentences can and can’t;
 recognize animals by description;
 use correctly the plural of nouns.

Affective:
 create interest in the topic;
 encourage Ss to communicate freely and spontaneously during the
activities;

Interaction:
- Teacher-whole class, Teacher- Student, Student- Student, Student-
Teacher

Class management:
- whole class activity, individual work, pair work, group work

Materials: Whiteboard, Worksheets, Textbook, Notebooks

Class organization:

Aim: preparing the class for the new lesson

Skills: listening, speaking

Time:2 minutes

Procedure: the teacher makes sure the class is prepared for the new lesson

Warm up:

Aim:
- to create a pleasant atmosphere and to relax the Ss
- to check if they remember previously taught materials.
Skills: reading,listening, speaking

Class management: whole class, individual work

Time: 8 minutes

Procedure: T invites Ss to play a game. Each S will come in front of the class and
will read a riddle about and animal. The other Ss listen carefully and try to guess
what animal is the riddle about. T monitors then announces the objectives of the
lesson, writes the title of the lesson on the blackboard.
Activity 1

Aim: - to check the plural of nouns

Skills: speaking, reading, writing

Class management: whole class activity

Time: 7 minutes

Procedure: T draws a table with two columns on the whiteboard and writes the
singular form of some nouns. Ss take turns and come to the whiteboard and
write the plurals. T checks the answers with the class.

Activity 2

Aim: - to check reading and pronunciation.

Skills: speaking, reading

Class management: whole class activity

Time: 8 minutes

Procedure: T asks Ss to open their books on page 9 and organizes role-reading.


Ss read out loud the text, T checks pronunciation and corrects if necessary. T
checks reading comprehension with the whole class (exercise 2, page 9).

Activity 3

Aim: - to check previously knowledge (can/can’t).

Skills: speaking, reading, writing

Class management: individual work

Time: 10 minutes

Procedure: T asks the Ss to solve individually exercise 1, page12 in their


notebooks. T checks the answers with the class. Then each S receives a
handout. T reads the instructions. After the handout is solved T checks the
answers with the whole class. T monitors the activity and helps if necessary.
Activity 4

Aim: - to check previously knowledge.

Skills: speaking, reading, writing

Class management: group work

Time: 15 minutes

Procedure: T organizes pair work. Each pair receives a handout. T reads the
instructions for each exercise. After each exercise is solved T checks the
answers with the whole class. The group with the most correct answers
receives the most points and so on. T monitors the activity and helps if
necessary.

Activity 5

Aim: - to increase Ss’ self confidence

Skills: speaking

Class management: whole class

Time: 5 minutes

Procedure: T appreciates Ss’ activity, rewards each group and gives


homework.
