Java Fire Alarm System
Java Fire Alarm System
Java Fire Alarm System
Java Based Fire Alarm System Project is to detect a fire or temperature increase in a room by
monitoring if the temperature is within the normal and maximum limits and if it exceeds the limits,
then to alert the authorized person by sending sms from system (PC) to his mobile. The main
advantage of this system is that the fire can be detected early so that the necessary steps can be
taken to prevent any further hazards
To improve the system by enabling the alarm to reach an authorized person who need not be
present at the actual location by sending an sms from the nearby system (PC) to his mobile. This
system would thus be a more effective than the existing system in today’s mobile generation.
The main features of this system are:
• We use java as the main software for sending the sms.
• We provide sms alerts about the hazard hence the message is reachable all over world in real
time.
• Pc based processing.
• Microcontroller based signal processing and encoding.
This project allows a person to alert the status of locations regarding the fire hazard and to alarm
him by sending the sms to mobile number; via the system. The parameters examined is the
temperature level by using fire sensor, it decodes the temperature levels as “hazard, normal, and
low”, by means of level comparator circuit and sends the equivalent value of compared level outputs
as a single bit data for each level (either 0 or 1) to the corresponding port bits of microcontroller.
Temperature level is measured by means of its corresponding sensor LM35 (real time monolithic
sensor) The output from this sensor is fed to a comparator. The comparator gives the output as the
hazard level status to the data encoder by microcontroller, which is transmitted further by means of
433mhz rf communication to the pc, the receiver connected to pc reads the data and feeds it to the
decoder the decoder in turn communicates with pc and the provides the respective codes for the
printer port there by instructing co running dynamic link library files to read the respective data from
parallel port, which iThe corresponding parameters are then displayed on the system via the proper
user experience interfacing with the j2me; the project is used to send sms the status of a place that
is being monitored. The heart of the project is the AT89c51 controller. The microcontroller in turn
whenever the safe ranges is violated the controller. Produces an alarm, and visual display, as well
as initiates the pc to send the sms to a specified mobile number using a mobile phone which is
interfaced with the pc.s designed with the help of vc++ for further communication with java .
Proposed System:
To improve the system by enabling the alarm to reach an authorized person who need not be
present at the actual location by sending an sms from the nearby system (PC) to his mobile. This
system would thus be a more effective than the existing system in today’s mobile generation.
The advantageous features of the proposed system are:
• We provide sms alerts about the hazard hence the message is reachable all over the world in real
time.
• This is more of a precautionary and preventive method than the existing system.
• PC based processing and so there is no need of costly hardware equipments.
• Microcontroller based signal processing and display.

Conclusion
Thus the Project entitled “JAVA BASED FIRE ALARM SYSTEM” was successfully completed within
the time span allotted. All the modules were tested separately and put together to form the main
system. Finally the system was tested with real data and everything worked successfully. Thus the
system has fulfilled the entire objective identified. The entire system is user friendly. The
performance of the system is proved to be efficient. The system was tested with and was found to
have an effective planning of the functions or process with a high degree of accuracy and user
friendliness.
This project helps in providing sms alerts in short intervals of time. This time interval can be
extended as needed in the future. There can be many future enhancements made like sending sms
to multiple numbers.
