THE MUSLIM WORLD 3

The Muslim World

Muslim is defined as someone who believed and practices Islam, a monotheistic

Abrahamic religion (IslamiCity, 2007). The Muslims and their Islamic religion started in

the Bedouin Promontory when the Islamic prophet named Muhammad, got the main

disclosure of the Quran in the seventh century in the give in of 'Hira' in the long stretch

of Ramadan. He was directed by Allah to pass on this message to the general

population and to be persistent with the individuals who turned out to be exceptionally

unfriendly to it, particularly the pioneers of 'Quraysh' who disliked the call of 'tawhid' and

annulling excessive admiration. Following 13 years of spreading this message

regardless of expanded mistreatment by the 'Quraysh', the Prophet Muhammad and his

adherents moved to Medina to set up another state under the Prophet's administration

and far from abuse. This movement, called the 'Hijra', marks the principal year of the

Islamic logbook. Islam at that point spread to the whole Middle Eastern Promontory

through the span of the Prophet's life.

After the Prophet Muhammad passed on, his successors (the Caliphs) kept on

driving the Muslim people group in light of his lessons and rules of the Quran. The

larger part of Muslims view the initial fours successors as 'appropriately guided' or

'Rashidun'. Islam under the Rashidun Caliphate developed quickly. Geographic

extension of Muslim power broadened well past the Middle Eastern Promontory as an

immense Muslim Realm with a territory of impact that extended from northwest India,

crosswise over Focal Asia, the Center East, North Africa, southern Italy, and the Iberian

Landmass, to the Pyrenees.

THE MUSLIM WORLD 4

A century after the passing of last Islamic prophet Muhammad, the Islamic

domain stretched out from Spain in the west to Indus in the east. The resulting domains,

for example, those of the Abbasids, Fatimids, Almoravids, Seljukids, AJura, Adal and

Warsangli in Somalia, Mughats in the Indian subcontinent, for example, India,

Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Safavaids in Persia and Ottmans in Anatolia were among the

compelling and recognized powers on the planet.

“Ang Islam nagmula pa ‘yan bago pa man yung panahon ni Eba, bago pa ang

lahat may islam na” (Palak M., 2017)

“The Islamic religion was established before Eve and Adam was created. (Palak

M., 2017)

Muhammad

Muhammad was conceived in Makkah in the year 570, when Christianity was not

yet completely settled in Europe. Since his dad kicked the bucket before his introduction

to the world, and his mom in a matter of seconds subsequently, he was raised by his

uncle from the regarded tribe of Quraysh. As he grew up, he ended up noticeably

known for his honesty, liberality and earnestness, with the goal that he was looked for

after for his capacity to parley in question. The students of history depict him as quiet

and reflective.

Muhammad was of a profoundly religious nature, and had since quite a while ago

despised the debauchery of his general public. It turned into his propensity to ponder

every now and then in the Buckle of Hira close to the summit of Jabal al-Nur, the 'Heap

of Light' close Makkah.

THE MUSLIM WORLD 5

At 40 years old, while occupied with a thoughtful withdraw, Muhammad got his

first divine revelation through the Holy messenger Gabriel. This disclosure, which

proceeded for twenty-three years, is known as the Quran.

“Si Gabriel siya yung nagpadala ng magandang balita kay Muhammad, isa

s’yang angel na bumaba ... at lahat ng mga angel sobrang malalaki may ibang

nagkakatawang tao” (Palak M., 2017)

When he started to discuss the words he got notification from Gabriel, and to

lecture reality which God had uncovered to him, he and his little gathering of devotees

endured intense abuse, which developed so savage that in the year 622 God gave them

the summon to emigrate. This occasion, the Hijra, 'movement', in which they cleared out

Makkah for the city of Madinah nearly 260 miles toward the north, denotes the start of

the Muslim schedule.

Following quite a long while, the Prophet and his adherents could come back to

Makkah, where they pardoned their adversaries and built up Islam conclusively. Prior to

the Prophet kicked the bucket at 63 years old, most of Arabia was Muslim, and inside

an era of his passing Islam had spread to Spain in the West and as far East as China.

(IslamiCity, 2007)

“Si Muhammad propeta siya ni Allah, isa lang siya sa mga prophets pero

sinasamba din namin siya katulad ng ibang prophets.” (Palak M., 2017)

“Muhammad is a prophet of Allah, we give our faith also to him because he is

considered as one of the hundred prophets of Allah.” (Palak M., 2017)

Qur’an

The Quran is a record of the correct words uncovered by God through the

Blessed messenger Gabriel to the Prophet Muhammad. It was retained by Muhammad

and after that directed to his Allies, and recorded by copyists, who cross-checked it

amid his lifetime. Not single word of its 114 parts, Suras, has been changed throughout

the hundreds of years, with the goal that the Quran is in everything about remarkable

and inexplicable content which was uncovered to Muhammad fourteen centuries prior.

The Quran, the last uncovered Expression of God, is the prime wellspring of

each Muslim's confidence and practice. It manages every one of the subjects who

concern us as people: intelligence, regulation, love, and law, yet its fundamental topic is

the connection amongst God and His animals. In the meantime it gives rules to a fair

society, appropriate human direct and an evenhanded monetary framework. (IslamiCity,

2007)

“Yung Qur’an ayan naka Arabic yan, kaya as early as 8 years old tinuturo na

namin sa mga bata kung paano magbasa at sumulat ng Arabic para maintindihan nila

yung Qur’an, at kailangan lahat ng Muslim matuto nito.” (Palak M., 2017)

“The Qur’an is in Arabic language, that’s why as early as 8 years old we are

teaching the Muslim children on how to write and read Arabic so that they could

understand the content of Qur’an, all of Muslim people must learn the Arabic.” (Palak

M., 2017)

Five Pillars of Islam

The five pillars of Islam include the following: faith, prayer, zakat, fast, and the

pilgrimage.

The five pillars were defined by IslamiCity (2007) as:

Faith. There is no god deserving of love aside from God and Muhammad is His

delivery person. This affirmation of confidence is known as the Shahada, a

straightforward equation which all the dependable articulate. In Arabic, the initial

segment is la ilaha illa Llah - 'there is no god aside from God'; ilaha (god) can allude to

anything which we might be enticed to set up of God - riches, influence, and so forth. At

that point, illa Llah: 'aside from God', the wellspring of all Creation. The second piece of

the Shahada is Muhammadun rasulu'Llah: 'Muhammad is the delivery person of God.' A

message of direction has gotten through a man like us.

Prayer. Salat is the name for the obligatory prayers which are performed five

times a day, and are a direct link between the worshipper and God. There is no

hierarchical authority in Islam, and no priests, so the prayers are led by a learned

person who knows the Quran, chosen by the congregation. These five prayers contain

verses from the Quran, and are said in Arabic, the language of the Revelation, but

personal supplication can be offered in one's own language.

Prayers are said at dawn, noon, mid-afternoon, sunset and nightfall, and thus

determine the rhythm of the entire day. Although it is preferable to worship together in a

mosque, a Muslim may pray almost anywhere, such as in fields, offices, factories and

universities. Visitors to the Muslim world are struck by the centrality of prayers in daily

life.
THE MUSLIM WORLD 8

“Five times kaming nagp-pray, kasi yun yung parang contract naming kay Allah”

(Palak M., 2017)

“We are required to pray five times a day, because that is our agreement with

Allah” (Palak M., 2017)

Zakat. There is no god deserving of love with the exception of God and

Muhammad is His errand person. This announcement of confidence is known as the

Shahada, a basic recipe which all the dependable articulate.

The second piece of

the Shahada is Muhammadun rasulu'Llah: 'Muhammad is the detachment of God.' A

message of direction has gotten through a man like us.

Fast. Consistently in the long stretch of Ramadan, all Muslims quick from first

light until nightfall, going without sustenance, drink, and sexual relations, the individuals

who are wiped out, elderly, or on a trip, and ladies who are pregnant or nursing are

allowed to split the quick and make up an equivalent number of days after the fact in the

year. In the event that they are physically unfit to do this, they should bolster a destitute

individual for consistently missed. Kids start to quick (and to watch the supplication)

from pubescence, albeit many begin prior.

In spite of the fact that the quick is most advantageous to the wellbeing, it is

viewed mainly as a strategy for self-cleaning. By cutting oneself off from common

solaces, notwithstanding for a brief timeframe, a fasting individual increases genuine

sensitivity for the individuals who go eager and in addition development in one's

profound life.

Pilgrimage. The yearly journey to Makkah - the Hajj - is a commitment just for

the individuals who are physically and fiscally ready to perform it. By and by, around two

million individuals go to Makkah every year from each side of the globe giving a one of a

kind chance to those of various countries to meet each other. Despite the fact that

Makkah is constantly loaded with guests, the yearly Hajj starts in the twelfth month of

the Islamic year (which is lunar, not sun based, so Hajj and Ramadan fall some of the

time in summer, once in a while in winter). Pioneers wear unique garments:

straightforward pieces of clothing which strip away qualifications of class and culture, so

all stand break even with before God.

The customs of the Hajj, which are of Abrahamic inception, incorporate revolving

around the Ka'ba seven times, and going seven times between the mountains of Safa

and Marwa as did Hagar amid her look for water. At that point the pioneers stand

together on the wide plain of Arafa and participate in supplications for God’s pardoning,

in what are regularly thought of as a see of the Last Judgment.

In earlier hundreds of years the Hajj was an exhausting endeavor. Today, be that

as it may, Saudi Arabia furnishes a large number of individuals with water, present day

transport, and the most exceptional wellbeing offices.

The end of the Hajj is set apart by a celebration, the Eid al-Adha, which is

praised with petitions and the trading of endowments in Muslim people group all around.
THE MUSLIM WORLD 10

This, and the Eid al-Fitr, a devour day remembering the finish of Ramadan, are the

principle celebrations of the Muslim timetable.

The Muslim Calendar

Islamic lunar calendar

The Islamic calendar, Muslim calendar or Hijri calendar (AH) is a lunar

calendar consisting of 12 months in a year of 354 or 355 days. It is used to date events

in many Muslim countries and determines the proper days on which to observe the

annual fast (see Ramadan), to attend Hajj, and to celebrate other Islamic holidays and

festivals.

Solar Hijri calendar

The Solar Hijri calendar, also called the Shamsi Hijri calendar, and abbreviated

as SH, is the official calendar of Iran and Afghanistan. It begins on the vernal equinox.

Each of the twelve months corresponds with a zodiac sign. The first six months have 31

days, the next five have 30 days, and the last month has 29 days in usual years but 30

days in leap years. The year of Prophet Muhammad's migration to Medina (622 CE) is

fixed as the first year of the calendar, and the New Year's Day always falls on the March

equinox.
