Functional Description
Standard Tetra Pak A3-iLine
A Tetra Pak A3-iLine is an assembly of machines for the production and
handling of packages. The packages are produced by a filling machine and
then processed by a set of machines of different kinds that are connected by
conveyors. Example of machines after the filling machine are:
• Tetra Pak Conveyors
• Tetra Pak Accumulators
• Tetra Pak Straw Applicators
• Tetra Pak Cap Applicators
• Tetra Pak Cardboard Packers
• Tetra Pak Film Wrappers
• etcetera

A single line is composed of one filling machine with one or more defined
configurations of downstream equipment. Distribution equipments are not
shared with other filling machines.
Packages can walk through different machines in the production line because

Tetra Pak LC30
The Tetra Pak LC30 is the machine that handles the configuration of the
packaging line and controls the Tetra Pak A3-iLine. The LC30 works as a
supervisor over the machines control software that can be considered as local
software modules.
The machines are not allowed to start by themselves without a command
from the LC30. The machines will stop by themselves only in case of an
internal fault condition or a manual step down by the operator and in all other
cases the machines are controlled by the LC30.
Each machine in the Tetra Pak A3-iLine provides a homogenous interface to
the LC30, from network configuration to Start/Stop sequence, and no
specialized software is required for any different kind of distribution
equipment.
The conveyors present in the Tetra Pak A3-iLine are managed by the LC30
through the frequency converter ArmorStart. The LC30 does not control the
motors of the infeed-outfeed conveyors belonging to the different
equipments, but only the motors of the conveyors equipped with the
frequency converter ArmorStart and indicated by the designation LLC1,
