TPN Analysis is a tool used after brainstorming sessions to select the ideas or causes that a team has the most control over to address. The team categorizes each issue as being totally (T), partially (P), or not (N) within their influence. Issues labeled T can be taken forward by the team, those labeled P require involving others, and issues labeled N need identifying who has ownership and getting them involved. TPN Analysis helps decide which issues are within the team's control to focus their improvement efforts on.

- TPN Analysis Approach: List the issues or solutions. For each issue ask the team to categorize it (in terms of T’s, P’s, or N’s). Decide how the ‘T’s can be taken forward. Identify who else needs to be involved to move the ‘P’s. For ‘N’ issue you will need to be able to identify someone who has got ownership and control, and get them involved in what you are trying to achieve.
