About this document

Scope
This document applies to the Clearguard ACM 200 axle counting system in equipment
revision level 1.

Purpose
These Operating Instructions describe the features and functions of the diagnostic web
site for the Clearguard ACM 200 axle counting system.
The Clearguard ACM 200 axle counting system is part of the Clearguard track vacancy
detection system product line from Siemens. The axle counting system can be combined
with the following electronic wheel detection equipment: Clearguard ZP 43 E,
Clearguard ZP 43 V, or Clearguard ZP D 43.
The Clearguard ACM 200 axle counting system comprises the axle counter module (ACM)
as its main component, the connected ZP wheel detection equipment and the cabling.
A system network can be set up by combining ACMs of the Clearguard ACM 200 axle
counting system with ACMs of the Clearguard ACM 100 axle counting system. This
combination enables Clearguard WSD wheel detectors to be connected to the axle
counting system.
The Clearguard ACM 200 axle counting system is referred to below simply as axle
counting system. The axle counter module is referred to as ACM. The Clearguard wheel
detection equipment variants are referred to as ZP. The Clearguard WSD wheel detector
is referred to as WSD.

Target group
This document is directed at technically qualified railway staff.

Documentation is part of equipment described

This document is part of the equipment described. It must be kept for the entire lifetime of
the equipment. Make this document available to the staff responsible for the activities
described. Insert any amendments subsequently received from Siemens into the
document.

Figure 7 Double wheel detector display area

Under the diagnostic area, the wheel detection equipment is graphically displayed as
double wheel detectors (DS fields). The DS fields are arranged beneath each other.
The first pair of DS fields are the double wheel detectors of the directly connected wheel
detection equipment of the ACM. A set of wheel detection equipment consists of a double
wheel detector (DEK 43) and a trackside connection box.
The second pair of DS fields belongs to partner ACM 1. This “remote” wheel detection
equipment is controlled by a partner ACM. It can be ZP wheel detection equipment or a
WSD wheel detector. The third pair of DS fields belongs to partner ACM 2, etc.
To the left and right of each activated double wheel detector, there are two short vertical
lines. These represent the rails of the track vacancy detection sections (TVDS 1 to the left
and TVDS 2 to the right). The little arrows on the vertical lines show the direction of travel.
The double wheel detectors are depicted on these lines in the form of two circles on top
of each other. The configured double wheel detectors are connected by a horizontal line
to the relevant track vacancy detection section (TVDS 1/TVDS 2). A double wheel
detector can be configured differently for the two track vacancy detection sections.
The non-configured double wheel detectors are represented by a grayed-out DS field
(e.g. DS 2 of partner ACM 4).
In the event of a fault, the DS fields are shown with a red frame.

“Fault” menu item

For diagnosing the ACM, the “Fault” menu item provides a table with diagnostic data. The
diagnostic data includes those elements which may indicate a fault via one or more
values. If, for example, Clear indication blocking of TVDS 1 is 1, TVDS 1 is faulty. The
track vacancy detection section must be reset.
For fault diagnostics, refer to the “Maintenance Instructions, Clearguard ACM 200 Axle
Counting System” (A6Z00034296081).
The function corresponds to that of the “Status” menu item. However, only the faulty
elements are displayed here. The structure and filter options correspond to that of the
“Status” menu item.

Figure 10 Fault data

“Statistics” menu item

For diagnosing the ACM, the “Statistics” menu item provides a table with statistical data.
The statistical data of non-configured elements (TVDS, double wheel detectors, SLC) is
masked out. The structure and filter options correspond to that of the “Status” menu item.

“Tracing” menu item

The “Tracing” menu item is used to log the downloaded data. After activating the tracing
function and entering a target folder, a log file is written onto the hard disk. The path as
well as entry and download frequency are to be specified under this menu item. The
name of the file is:
IP address__YYYY-MM-DD__HH-MI-SS_diag.txt
Example: 192_168_2_250__2012-12-06__12-44-28 diag.txt
Three operating modes are available for the “Tracing” menu item. They are activated by
selecting the following radio buttons:
• NO TRACING

When selecting the “Tracing” radio button, the diagnostic data is periodically downloaded
and saved in a log file. The diagnostic data is displayed on the graphical user interface.
The diagnostic values can be browsed under the “Status”, “Fault”, “Statistics” and
“Version” menu items.
The settings only apply for the current life cycle of the web site. If the web site is restarted,
the settings are reset to the default settings shown in the figure above.
After modifying a value, this modified value becomes active immediately and a new log
file is created.
There are three settings for diagnostics and logging:
1. Download frequency
The download frequency indicates the time between two attempts at downloading
diagnostic data. If downloading fails, this is also logged.
2. New file created
The log file is written continuously. The file size is constantly increased due to this
fact. To control the file size, the time after which a new file is to be created can be
set here.
3. Target folder
The log files are stored in this path. When clicking the … button, a file selection
dialog opens.
The table below includes a memory requirement calculation for the possible combinations:

“File mode” radio button

Figure 15 File mode

When selecting the “File mode” radio button, no diagnostic file can be downloaded from
the ACM. A previously created tracing file can be read in and displayed. In the “Log file”
field, the user must enter the file name or select a file via the … button and the file
selection dialog. The file is read into the table below and the first line is selected.
Each line represents a point in time when the ACM has tried to download a diagnostic file.
If the diagnostic file could not be downloaded, the line in the table is shown in red and an
*
asterisk appears at the beginning of the line (e.g. 03.07.2012 17:46:23).
The selected line of the diagnostic file is displayed on the graphical user interface. The
diagnostic values can be browsed under the “Status”, “Fault”, “Statistics” and “Version”

Scroll box in file mode

In file mode, a scroll box is displayed under the graphical representation of the configured
double wheel detectors. A displayed scroll box indicates that the web site does not
perform tracing. The tracing data is displayed offline. The position of the scroll box
indicates the position of the data in the read-in diagnostic file and permits it to be set.
When moving the scroll box, the diagnostic data is automatically read into the web site.
The diagnostic values are then displayed on the graphical user interface and in the
“Status”, “Fault”, “Statistics” and “Version” menu items.

5 Modification of configuration data

Modification of configuration data

Call-up of configuration data via “Attribute configuration data” menu

Step Action
1 Call up the “Attribute configuration data” menu to modify configuration data.
Use the following supplementary documentation:
• “Configuration Instructions, Clearguard ACM 200 Axle Counting System”
(equipment revision level 1, A6Z00034626179)
• “Configuration Process using Web Site, Clearguard ACM 200 Axle
Counting System” (A6Z00034626189)

“Attribute configuration data” menu

When starting up the web site, the configuration is automatically loaded from the ID plug.
The graphical representation corresponds to the configuration: the configured track
vacancy detection sections and double wheel detectors are displayed.
When selecting a menu item from the “Attribute configuration data” menu, the frame of
the display area becomes yellow.

Figure 17 Configuration data selected

The diagnostic information is masked out: the LEDs are off and the status of the TVDS or
SRI is not displayed. The number of counted axles is masked out. If tracing has been
activated, it continues to run in the background.
The following menu items are available in the “Attribute configuration data” menu:
• ACM configuration
• Saving and loading

Modification of configuration data

“ACM configuration” menu item

The ACM configuration can be set using this menu item. In the display area on the right-
hand side, the name and version of the configuration data are displayed first.
Then, there are two pull-down menus with different options:
1. TVDS1, SRI1, TVDS1 (AZG REDUNDANT) or NONE for TVDS 1
2. TVDS2, SRI2, TVDS1 REDUNDANT OUTPUT or NONE for TVDS 2
Next, there are two check boxes for the directly connected double wheel detectors.
Designations can be allocated to the track vacancy detection sections and directly
connected double wheel detectors. Below these check boxes, the IP data of the ACM (its
IP address, gateway and subnet mask) is shown. Further check boxes are available to
select the commissioning operation and resettability. In the four lines that follow, the
partner ACMs can be set (IP address, Save parameter, ReTi, SeTi).
If TVDS has been set, the following can be configured in the lower section: reset
procedure, track clear indication delay, RaTi and the double wheel detectors. The first
two double wheel detectors are the directly connected ones, the second pair belongs to
partner ACM 1, the third pair to partner ACM 2, and so on.
Using the L/R/N button (left-hand, right-hand, nondirectional, not assigned), a double
wheel detector can be assigned to a track vacancy detection section and the direction
can be modified. The current setting is indicated by a bold letter L, R or N on the button.
The direction is additionally indicated on the graphical user interface next to the DS fields
on the vertical rail lines.
The parameters for oscillation (O) and a test run (M) can be activated in the double wheel
detector setting lines.
If a double wheel detector of a partner ACM is assigned to a track vacancy detection
section, a check mark appears automatically for the partner ACM in the upper area. Vice
versa, if a double wheel detector of a partner ACM has already been assigned to a track
vacancy detection section and the check mark for the partner ACM is removed in the
upper area, the check mark is also removed for the double wheel detector. This function
is implemented both for directly connected double wheel detectors as well as for TVDS
and SRI. If a double wheel detector is inactive, the double wheel detector’s name is
grayed out.
If SRI is selected, the source and type of information can be configured below. The five
gray buttons represent the directly connected ACM and the partner ACMs. The text
written in bold on the buttons indicates the set information.
Consistency checking is performed. The relevant data is shown in red if its configuration
is not correct.

page 38). The file can be freely modified.
By clicking the TEXT or XML button in the “Read in from” area, the saved file can be read
in. A confirmation window appears if the file has been modified after saving. When
confirming this window, the file is read in and the MD4 value is recalculated.
The default configuration with the default values from the “Configuration Instructions,
Clearguard ACM 200 Axle Counting System” (equipment revision level 1) can be read in
by clicking the DEFAULT button. The exported configuration is shown in text format and in
XML format in the "Saving of configuration data in text format" and "Saving of
