Scope
This document applies to the Clearguard ACM 200 axle counting system in equipment
revision level 1.
Purpose
These Operating Instructions describe the features and functions of the diagnostic web
site for the Clearguard ACM 200 axle counting system.
The Clearguard ACM 200 axle counting system is part of the Clearguard track vacancy
detection system product line from Siemens. The axle counting system can be combined
with the following electronic wheel detection equipment: Clearguard ZP 43 E,
Clearguard ZP 43 V, or Clearguard ZP D 43.
The Clearguard ACM 200 axle counting system comprises the axle counter module (ACM)
as its main component, the connected ZP wheel detection equipment and the cabling.
A system network can be set up by combining ACMs of the Clearguard ACM 200 axle
counting system with ACMs of the Clearguard ACM 100 axle counting system. This
combination enables Clearguard WSD wheel detectors to be connected to the axle
counting system.
The Clearguard ACM 200 axle counting system is referred to below simply as axle
counting system. The axle counter module is referred to as ACM. The Clearguard wheel
detection equipment variants are referred to as ZP. The Clearguard WSD wheel detector
is referred to as WSD.

4 Performance of diagnostics
Diagnostic area
The diagnostic information of the ACM is displayed in the diagnostic area. The diagnostic
data is shown graphically in different display areas.
The following graphical display areas are available:
• inputs
• TVDS or SRI
• LEDs
• configuration of the wheel detection equipment
In normal operation, each display area has a gray frame. In the event of a fault, this frame
becomes red. This representation provides the user with an always up-to-date overview
of the axle counting system's faults and general status.
This display area shows the reset inputs (interface to the interlocking) (AZGT, AZGH) for
both track vacancy detection sections. In the event of a fault (e.g. incorrect button
operation), the frame becomes red.
TVDS or SRI
Diagnostic information for the track vacancy detection section (TVDS) or freely available
safety-related information (SRI) can be displayed.
Display: TVDS
The TVDS display area has the following fields:
The status of the TVDS can be “Clear” or “Occupied”. In the “Occupied” status, the
background color of the “number of axles” field is orange. It is green if the TVDS is clear.
In the event of a fault, the “TVDS” and “button on the front panel of the ACM” fields have
a red frame.
Display: SRI
The SRI display area has the following fields:
The “source of information” field in the SRI display area indicates from which ACM the
SRI comes from (directly connected ACM or partner ACM 1 to 4). The “information” field
indicates the type of input (AZGT, AZGH) or a track vacancy detection section.
The “status text” field indicates the following information:
• when indicating an input: “Operated” or “Not operated”
• when indicating a track vacancy detection section: “Clear” or “Occupied”
Display: LEDs
The LED indications shown on the web site correspond to the LEDs on the front panel of
the relevant ACM. The LEDs are displayed in flashing-light, steady-light or off mode. The
meaning of the LEDs is explained in the “System Description, Clearguard ACM 200 Axle
Counting System” (A6Z00034296029).
For the “CAL”, “DIR1” and “DIR2” functions, there are an LED and a button on the front
panel of the ACM. If there is a button fault (e.g. incorrect button operation), the frame of
the relevant LED on the web site becomes red.
In addition, there is a reset button (RST) which can be optionally used to reset the ACM
at the click of a mouse.
In online mode, the IP address of the relevant ACM is displayed under the Siemens logo
in the graphical display area (see the figure). In offline mode, “Offline” is displayed under
the Siemens logo.
Under the diagnostic area, the wheel detection equipment is graphically displayed as
double wheel detectors (DS fields). The DS fields are arranged beneath each other.
The first pair of DS fields are the double wheel detectors of the directly connected wheel
detection equipment of the ACM. A set of wheel detection equipment consists of a double
wheel detector (DEK 43) and a trackside connection box.
The second pair of DS fields belongs to partner ACM 1. This “remote” wheel detection
equipment is controlled by a partner ACM. It can be ZP wheel detection equipment or a
WSD wheel detector. The third pair of DS fields belongs to partner ACM 2, etc.
To the left and right of each activated double wheel detector, there are two short vertical
lines. These represent the rails of the track vacancy detection sections (TVDS 1 to the left
and TVDS 2 to the right). The little arrows on the vertical lines show the direction of travel.
The double wheel detectors are depicted on these lines in the form of two circles on top
of each other. The configured double wheel detectors are connected by a horizontal line
to the relevant track vacancy detection section (TVDS 1/TVDS 2). A double wheel
detector can be configured differently for the two track vacancy detection sections.
The non-configured double wheel detectors are represented by a grayed-out DS field
(e.g. DS 2 of partner ACM 4).
In the event of a fault, the DS fields are shown with a red frame.
If a link with a configured IP address is shown below an ACM’s name, the user can easily
navigate to the diagnostic web site of the associated ACM.
The following options are available for the direction configuration of double wheel
detectors:
1 Left (L)
2 Right (R)
3 Nondirectional (N)
1. If the double wheel detector symbol is depicted on the left-hand vertical line (rail), the
double wheel detector is configured for the left-hand direction when entering the
track vacancy detection section.
2. If the double wheel detector symbol is depicted on the right-hand vertical line (rail),
the double wheel detector is configured for the right-hand direction when entering
the track vacancy detection section.
3. If the double wheel detector symbol is depicted on both vertical lines (rails), the
double wheel detector is configured nondirectionally.
Step Action
1 Locate the fault via the web site. For this purpose, use the “Diagnostics”
menu with its different menu items.
“Diagnostics” menu
The following menu items are available in the “Diagnostics” menu:
• Status
• Fault
• Statistics
• Version
• Tracing
Example:
The “Name filter” field provides a filter option for the element names. It is irrelevant
whether the element name is entered in upper- or lower-case notation. The entered text
should include parts of an element name.
Example:
• The BLOCKING filter filters for Boardvar/clear indication blocking TVDS 1/2; minus
axle blocking TVDS 1/2, button blocking TVDS 1/2.
A description of the selected element is displayed in the lower section of the functional
area.
If a diagnostic value indicates a fault, the associated line in the table is shown in red and
*
an asterisk appears in front of the group field (e.g. Board).
Figure 13 No tracing
When selecting the “No tracing” radio button, only the diagnostic file is periodically
downloaded. The diagnostic data is displayed on the graphical user interface. The
diagnostic values can be browsed under the “Status”, “Fault”, “Statistics” and “Version”
menu items.
The download frequency can be set in the lower section using radio buttons. The settings
only apply for the current life cycle of the web site. If the web site is restarted, the settings
are reset to the default settings shown in the figure above (every 3 seconds).
After modifying a value, this modified value becomes active immediately.
Figure 14 Tracing
When selecting the “Tracing” radio button, the diagnostic data is periodically downloaded
and saved in a log file. The diagnostic data is displayed on the graphical user interface.
The diagnostic values can be browsed under the “Status”, “Fault”, “Statistics” and
“Version” menu items.
The settings only apply for the current life cycle of the web site. If the web site is restarted,
the settings are reset to the default settings shown in the figure above.
After modifying a value, this modified value becomes active immediately and a new log
file is created.
There are three settings for diagnostics and logging:
1. Download frequency
The download frequency indicates the time between two attempts at downloading
diagnostic data. If downloading fails, this is also logged.
2. New file created
The log file is written continuously. The file size is constantly increased due to this
fact. To control the file size, the time after which a new file is to be created can be
set here.
3. Target folder
The log files are stored in this path. When clicking the … button, a file selection
dialog opens.
The table below includes a memory requirement calculation for the possible combinations:
When selecting the “File mode” radio button, no diagnostic file can be downloaded from
the ACM. A previously created tracing file can be read in and displayed. In the “Log file”
field, the user must enter the file name or select a file via the … button and the file
selection dialog. The file is read into the table below and the first line is selected.
Each line represents a point in time when the ACM has tried to download a diagnostic file.
If the diagnostic file could not be downloaded, the line in the table is shown in red and an
*
asterisk appears at the beginning of the line (e.g. 03.07.2012 17:46:23).
The selected line of the diagnostic file is displayed on the graphical user interface. The
diagnostic values can be browsed under the “Status”, “Fault”, “Statistics” and “Version”
menu items.
The diagnostic information is masked out: the LEDs are off and the status of the TVDS or
SRI is not displayed. The number of counted axles is masked out. If tracing has been
activated, it continues to run in the background.
The following menu items are available in the “Attribute configuration data” menu:
• ACM configuration
• Saving and loading
UTF-8 coding can also be used as a universal text format for configuration, i.e. Cyrillic
and Chinese characters can be used, for example. The following text fields in the
functional area support UTF-8:
• Name
• Version
• TVDS1, TVDS2
• SRI1, SRI2
• DS 1
• DS 2
A fault message appears when entering too many characters.
By clicking the TEXT or XML button in the “Save to” area, the configuration data can be
saved on the hard disk. The file format is readable text (see “Saving of configuration data
in text format” on page 34) or XML (see “Saving of configuration data in XML format” on
page 38). The file can be freely modified.
By clicking the TEXT or XML button in the “Read in from” area, the saved file can be read
in. A confirmation window appears if the file has been modified after saving. When
confirming this window, the file is read in and the MD4 value is recalculated.
The default configuration with the default values from the “Configuration Instructions,
Clearguard ACM 200 Axle Counting System” (equipment revision level 1) can be read in
by clicking the DEFAULT button. The exported configuration is shown in text format and in
XML format in the "Saving of configuration data in text format" and "Saving of
configuration data in XML format" sections "Evaluation of diagnostic data".
The current configuration can be read in by clicking the ACM button in the READ IN FROM
area.
The completed configuration can be saved in the ACM by clicking the ACM button in the
SAVE TO area. The result of the flash process in the ID plug is shown in an information
window.
