common room, Printing Room with A0 Plotter, A3 Color Printer, Scanner and an Open Air Theater

• Total built up area of Dept. is 3500 sqm approx and is located in scenic MZU campus with
amazing views of hills in surroundings in a moderate climate

Exhibition Centers, Temples, Churches, Assembly Building, Memorials, Palaces,

 National Workshop Day 3: Under-Construction 18 hole Golf Course Site Visit
Thenzawl

• A Three Day National Workshop on “Integration of Art and Modern Technology in

Architecture” was organized in the Department during 26th - 28th March 2018
• “Keynote Address” was delivered by Prof. Shubhrajit Das from Jadavpur University,
Kolkata, titled: “Time and Technology : People and Places”
• “Panel Discussion” was conducted with Keynote Speaker chaired by Prof Shiva Ji
• Three Papers were presented in Technical Session 1, titled:
- “Architecture as a Service (AaaS) : Micro Habitation Planning with Sustainable
Product Service System Approach” by Prof Shiva Ji
- “Green Building for Water Efficiency” by Dr Lalsangzela Sailo
- “Poetics of Light : A Study of the Luminous Environment of Korman House” by Ms
ST Malsawmtluangi
• Painting and Sculpture workshop was facilitated by Mr. James J and Mr. Isaak G from
District Institute of Education and Training, Lunglei and Aizawl respectively
• An “under-construction site visit” was conducted to 18 Hole Golf-Course at Thenzawl.
Pre-Fabricated Building Parts, made of Siberian Pine wood, are imported from Russia
and assembled in to Tourist Huts (30) on a 100 Acre site by two Indian construction and
development firms. Project is being developed under Swadesh Darshan, North East
Circuit Scheme of Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India
• A visit was made to scenic Hmuifang and Model Mizo Village at Zokhua, Falkawn.
