Modulo Art Contest

Modulo Art Contest is a mathematics-based contest that challenges junior high school students to create artistically pleasing designs using number patterns from modular arithmetic tables. Each participating student will be given a template to complete their artwork within two hours, using coloring materials of their choice. MODULO ART CONTEST

Mathematics is the study of patterns. One of the ways in which we may use number patterns is the
creation of unique and artistically pleasing designs. MODULO ART is making design based on modular
arithmetic tables.

Mechanics
1. This contest will be participated by one (1) Junior High School student per school.
2. One (1) official Modulo Art Worksheet Template will be provided to each participant bearing the
participant’s Entry Number, however, each must bring his/her own coloring materials, pencil, ruler and
other drawing materials of his/her choice.
3. Artworks must be finished in not more than two hours.
4. Designs are limited for modulo art square grid reflected pattern.
5. Top (3) winners will be chosen by the panel of judges on the following criteria:
Color Combination 20%
Creativity/Visual Impact 20%
Originality 20%
Neatness 20%
Accuracy of Patterns and Designs 20%
100%
6. The winners during the final judging will receive a medal and Certificate of Recognition.
