Stve 7

This lesson plan outlines teaching students how to calculate surface areas of farms. It will discuss calculating surface areas of regular and irregular shaped farms using measurements of length and width. Students will practice sample calculations, like finding the area of a rectangular farm measured at 100m by 60m and calculating its area in hectares. They will also calculate the surface area of an irregularly shaped farm with varying lengths and widths. The lesson aims to teach students how to compute surface areas of farms with both regular and irregular shapes.

Guide:
-What is the most common shape of a canal cross section?
-How do you calculate the surface of a canal cross-section; wetted cross-section of a
canal?

B. Presentation
1. Discussion on measuring and calculating the surface areas of a Farm.
- Discuss how to calculate the surface area of a farm with a regular shape.
-Explain how to calculate the surface area of farm field with irregular shape.
Present pictures/chart for the discussion.

2. Application
