This worksheet can be used to check that students’ knowledge of verbs taking either a gerund or the infinitive.
It’s a great follow-up to our Snakes and Ladders gerund / infinitive pack.
Give one worksheet to each student. Students can work alone, and check in pairs.
If you are using this worksheet as part of a lesson (as opposed to homework), give your students some time to
read the questions, and think of answers. Give an example answer yourself.
This activity can be used to build fluency with the target language. Put students in pairs, or small groups. They
can then ask each other the questions, and use follow-up questions to build conversations.
Monitor, but try not to interrupt. Make a note of errors while monitoring, and at the end elicit some feedback, and
go through errors you made a note of while monitoring.
