Frontsim Waterflood

FrontSim software can be used to model and manage waterfloods through its pattern flood management (PFM) capabilities. PFM allows automatic well allocation during simulation runs to balance injection and production across reservoir patterns. This improves sweep efficiency, reduces water recycling, and limits injection loss to aquifers. PFM is activated by specifying a dynamic well list and using the WCONPAT keyword to define the allocation strategy, such as voidage replacement, recovery balancing, or minimizing water recycling.

• Automatic allocation is based on the ranking of injector-
producer streamline bundles.
• Ranking criteria

Schlumberger Confidential
– Producer oil cut
– Rate of flooding of remaining recoverable oil
– Voidage created
• Injection lost to aquifer can be accounted for
– Reduce the overall injection
– Re-allocate lost injection
