Daihen Training Facility Arc/Touch Sensor Course Description
The Super Arc Sensor Course is a programming course that teaches students how to properly set-
up, use, and write programs utilizing the Super Arc Sensor. This course is designed for personnel
who are responsible for set-up, programming, editing, and daily operation of DAIHEN robots
utilizing the Super Arc Sensor option.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to perform the following tasks:
¾ Set-up the robot controller to operate with the Super Arc Sensor
¾ Know the major components of the Super Arc Sensor
¾ Understand the sensing methodology used to steer the welding torch
¾ Set up and run automatic learning features of the system
¾ Write a program utilizing seam tracking
¾ Understand touch sensor theory of operation
¾ Write a program utilizing touch sensing
¾ Understand the safety precautions to be used with the Super Arc Sensor
¾ Understand use of automatic wire cutter and wire length correction command
¾ Write a program utilizing arc sensing and touch sensing
¾ Know the application limitations of the Super Arc Sensor
¾ Create and use a sample data file
A “Certificate of Achievement” is awarded to those students attending this three (3) day course
who successfully complete all “practical” exercises as well as a written final examination.
