thorough peer review process. This journal deals with childhood development related disorders such
as Early Developmental Disabilities, Neurodevelopmental Disorders in children, Autism Spectrum
Disorder, Genetic Disorders, Dyslexia, Brain impairment activity, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity
Disorder (ADHD), Learning and Communication Disabilities, Cerebral Palsy, Language impairment,

submitted on child developmental stages such as social, behavioral and cognitive stages.
Open access is a platform in which all articles are published online such as this journal, where
everyone can access and view the articles with free of cost globally.
The main focus of this journal is to enhance the knowledge of the readers, researchers and
pediatricians on the current and upcoming development happening in medical domain of childhood &

Neurodevelopmental Disorders
A neurodevelopmental disorder is described as genetic or acquired biological disability in the
functioning of the brain that is responsible for the dysfunction in the child’s behaviour. It also affects
the memory and ability to learn such as mental retardation, dyslexia, cerebral palsy and autism etc.
It addresses the complexities of the of the central nervous system development in children. There
are four major categories of these disorders which include: cognitive dysfunction, behavioural
problems, motor dysfunction, and seizures. The neurodevelopmental behavioural disorder includes
physical as well as functional abnormalities. The migration of neurons may be affected by exposure
to x-ray radiation, alcohol or methylmercury.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is not a disease or the result of damage to the brain
but it a dysfunction that means the brain doesn't function in the way it should. The exact cause is not
clear, but ADHD tends to run in families. ADHD symptoms include trouble paying attention, trouble
sitting still for even a short time and acting before thinking etc.

Autism
Autism is a complex developmental disability; signs typically appear during early childhood and
affect a person’s ability to communicate, and interact with others. Some of the behaviors associated
with autism include delayed learning of language; difficulty making eye contact or holding a
conversation; difficulty with executive functioning, which relates to reasoning and planning; narrow,
intense interests; poor motor skills and sensory sensitivities.

Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD)

Central auditory processing disorder is neurological defect casing hearing problem that affects
children mostly. There is communication gap because of incomplete receiving, remembering and
understanding of information. More precisely, the problem arises when children are not able to
recognize the slight difference in sounds even when the sounds are loud and clear.

Therapy, Journal of Vascular Medicine & Surgery, Audiology Online, The Cleft Palate-Craniofacial

Cerebral Palsy
Cerebral palsy is a condition of motor disability in childhood that affects a person’s ability to move
and maintain balance and posture. It is caused by abnormal brain development or damage to the
developing brain which affect the ability to control his or her muscles. The specific cause is
unknown. It is one of the most common congenital disorders of childhood.
Children suffering from cerebral palsy have common symptoms of seizures, speech and
communication problems and intellectual disabilities.

Neurology, The American Academy of Pediatrics.

Conduct Disorder
Conduct Disorder refers to serious behavioural and emotional disorder that can occur in children and
teenagers. Children and adolescent with conduct disorder have great difficulty in socializing and
display disruptive and violent behaviour. The behaviour becomes uncommon when it is long-lasting
and violates the rights of others. Some major factors involve child abuse or neglect, school failure,
traumatic life experiences and brain damage. Many children show mood disorders, anxiety, learning
problems along with conduct disorder symptoms.

Adolescent Psychiatry, BJPsych Advances, The American Journal of Psychiatry, AMA Journal of

Down Syndrome
Down syndrome is a genetic disorder occurs when part of chromosome 21 gets attached to another
chromosome during the formation of reproductive cells. This results in trisomy of 21 meaning each
cell in body has 3 copies of chromosome 21. This additional genetic material alters the course of
development.
Children suffering from Down syndrome show certain features such as flat face, a short neck, slating
eyes and small mouth. They also have small degree of intellectual disability. Varied level of changes
is seen in the development of brain and body develops.

Therapy, Human Genetics & Embryology, International Journal of Down Syndrome, Journal of Down
Syndrome Australia, Down Syndrome Education Online, RFID Journal.

Encopresis
Encopresis is a condition of fecal incontinence. It often occurs in children above age of 4 where they
have already learned to use toilet. It occurs when a child resists having bowel movements, causing
impacted stool to accumulate in the colon and rectum. Some of the primary symptoms involve
leakage of stool or liquid stool infrequently, constipation with hard, dry stool, abdominal pain, lack of
appetite and repeated urinary tract infections.

Sciences.

Enuresis
Enuresis is commonly known as bed-wetting at night. It is a common elimination disorder. Some
children experience both night time wetting and day time wetting. This involuntary or non-intentional
pass of urine may be because of small bladder, persistent urinary tract infection or stress. Mostly
children below the age of 10 suffer from such conditions.

Expressive Language Disorder

Expressive Language disorder is a condition where child suffers from expressive language
development. Child has difficulty in conveying information in speech, writing, gestures or sign
language. They display lower than normal ability in vocabulary. Children with expressive language
disorder are diagnosed with brain injury or some cases damage to central nervous system. They
display problems in organizing their thoughts and problems in understanding what is said to them.

Fragile X Syndrome
Fragile X Syndrome is a genetic disorder which causes arrange of developmental problem including
intellectual disabilities and cognitive impairment. It also includes learning challenges and difficulties
with various physical characteristics. Both genders are affected by this syndrome but more
frequently males show this disease with greater severity. Mutations in the FMR1 gene cause fragile
X syndrome. This gene is responsible for the making of protein called called fragile X mental
retardation 1 protein, or FMRP.
Affected individuals show delayed development of speech and language. General features include a
range from moderate learning disabilities to more severe intellectual disabilities. Behavioural
characteristics and physical features include ADD, ADHD, austistic behaviour with large ears, long
face, soft skin and large testicles.

Specific Language Impairment (SLI)

Specific language impairment (SLI) is a language disorder that delays the mastery of language skills
in children who have no hearing loss or other developmental delays. SLI is also called
developmental language disorder, language delay, or developmental dysphasia.

Stuttering
Stuttering is characterized by disturbances in the fluency of the speech. It begins in childhood and
usually people suffer from that throughout life. At starting the person is not aware of this problem.
Stuttering is often accompanied by motor movements such as eye blinks, tics, tremors of the lips or
face, jerking of the head, breathing movements, or fist clenching. It disrupts the proper
communication by a person and mostly detected by listeners. Sometimes the features are not easily
recognized by the listeners therefore diagnosing stuttering often requires the skill of certified speech-
language pathologist (SLP).

Tourette’s Disorder
Tourette’s Disorder is neurological disorder affecting the brain and nervous system. It is
characterized by repetitive, stereotyped, involuntary movements and vocalizations called tics. For
example a person may repeatedly blink eyes, shrug his shoulders or jerk his head. Signs of
Tourette’s syndrome show up between the age group of 2 to 12. Sometimes this disorder may be
associated with OCD or ADHD.

Alzheimer’s Disease
Alzheimer's disease is a radical disease that declines memory and other important mental functions.
It is the most common cause of dementia — a group of brain disorders that result in the loss of
intellectual and social skills. These changes are severe enough to interfere with day-to-day life.
