Drawing Syllabus

The document outlines the procedures and expectations for an art class. Students are expected to arrive on time with their materials, ask permission to speak or leave by raising their hand, and help clean up. Consequences for misbehavior start with a warning, moving seats, and potential detention, with parent contact or office referral for repeated issues. The goal is to maximize art-making time rather than spend time on discipline.

enter the room. Get out your sketchbook, go to your
assigned area, and complete the Daily Warm Up. Wait
for further instructions
2.Asking Questions: Please raise your hand when you
have a question.
3. Clean Up: Clean up during the last five minutes of
class unless you are instructed differently. Put supplies
away where they belong (ask if you are not sure), wipe
down tables and throw away any trash.
4. Leaving the class: Y
ou may not use the bathroom during the
first and last 10 minutes of class. Use the sign out sheet and
take a pass with you. When leaving at the end of class without
cleaning up, be prepared to clean up after your classmates the
next time you come to art.
You are responsible for coming to class on time and ready to learn:

● If you are absent and a project is due, you are responsible for handing in a completed
project the next time you are in my class.
● Please bring a pencil or pen to class and write your name on all of your projects.
● We will begin the year by creating a sketchbook.
● If you would like, you can purchase your own sketchbook, usually for $5 or less.
● There will never be a time where you have nothing to do in the class. If you are done
early, you can work on a sketchbook assignment, or see me for an alternative assignment.
I will post new assignments in the classroom. If you are having a tough time, please talk
to me before a project is due. I am here to help and as long as you are willing to try, you
will be successful!

Consequences of Misbehavior:
1. Student will be asked to stop the

problematic behavior. This will be a warning.
2. The student will be asked to move to a new
area
to help them focus
3. The student may be asked to see me before
or after school, or during lunch.
4. The student will be given a detention
5. Parents/ Guardians will be contacted
6. Student will be referred to the office.

Please know that my priority is to spend as much time as possible helping you make art, rather
than handling discipline issues. I value and respect all my students and I expect that we will
make the most of our time in this class!
