Research Question:
Review of Literature
Blogs, or Web logs, are online journals that are updated frequently, sometimes even daily.
It is a type of website that focuses mainly on written content, also known as blog posts. In popular
culture we most often hear about news blogs or celebrity blog sites. An update, (also called
an entry or a post) is usually quite short, perhaps just a few sentences, and readers can often
respond to an entry online. People who write blogs are commonly called bloggers. Bloggers,
tongue in cheek, call themselves and their blogs the blogosphere.
According to Erica Verrillo (2018), for her writing blog is like Google Plus because its an excellent
platform for bloggers. There you will find numerous writing communities of all stripes: marketing for
authors, self-publishing, fantasy writers, poetry, horror, sci-fi writers, bloggers — you name it, there’s
a community for it. If you haven’t already, set up your Google Plus profile, and join the appropriate
communities. Once you’ve joined, you can post links to your relevant blog posts on community
boards. You can also post your writing, depending on the community rules. (Make sure you read
those rules before you post!) Because you only post a link to your post along with a short intro,
Google Plus directly increases traffic to your blog. There is no need for a call to action. An additional
benefit is that people on Google Plus groups are likely to recommend your post to others. Like other
social media platforms, you can gain followers through Google Plus.
According to Meg Hoppe (2017), Consider your audience and how they consume information. Is it
through social media and, if so, which channels—LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.? You'll also want
to determine if the content is worthy of paid advertising on any of these channels to generate more
interest. Or, does your target audience prefer email notifications? Your blog platform should have a
sign-up form for readers to subscribe so that when a new blog is posted, they'll automatically be
notified. A combination of promotional efforts is likely the route to go.

Another idea, by Janine Warner (2016), it’s a informal online writing rarely benefits
from a good editor. Blogs are known for their casual writing and unpredictable subject
material, but the best blogs have proven that — regardless of punctuation and spelling —
even “novice” writers can be entertaining enough to attract a broad audience. And a specially
engaging subject, such as chronicling a trip around the world, have the advantage of
inherently interesting material, but even mundane material can attract an audience if you have
an engaging style and voice.
Analysis:
There are many meaning about writing blogs, and commonly people say that
writing blogs are websites that allow authors to maintain on going, reverse-
chronological entries for an audience, link to other webpages and interact with readers
via comments. There are a wide variety of blog genres, ranging from individual online
diaries to corporate blogs, but they tend to be associated with more personal and
spontaneous forms of writing. Social researchers have used blogs as a source of data
in a variety of ways, from conducting a content analysis of gender and language use to
ethnographic participation in blogging communities. Moreover, while social scientists
may be interested in the practice of blogging itself, this new documentary resource
also lends itself to innovative ways of asking questions about ‘offline’ life.
