Construction Material::-C.S.E.B (Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks)

Compressed stabilized earth blocks (CSEB) are earthen bricks created through compression in hand-operated or hydraulic machines. CSEBs consist of gravel, sand, silt, and clay. CSEBs have compressive strengths between 3-6 MPa and water absorption between 8-12%. CSEBs use 110 MJ of energy per cubic meter, significantly less than kiln-fired bricks which use 539 MJ. A comparative analysis in Thimphu, Tibet found that CSEBs are lighter and cheaper than ordinary bricks or concrete blocks, making them a viable construction material. CSEB production machines from Habitech and Auroville cost between 73,500-69,800 Nu and
