PROJECT TITLE:

CAPSULE: “A proposed hotel through minimalist architecture approach”

BACKGROUND TITLE:

The Municipal of Puerto Galera, is a 1st class municipality in the province of Oriental Mindoro.
The traditional economy of Puerto Galera used to be fishing and subsistence agriculture, but with
the boom of the tourism at the end of 1970’s, the service sector became more important that
leads to population and economic growth.

Tourism now represent the core activity of the Puerto Galera economy which is well known
for its beaches, scuba diving and entertainment activities, including “go-go bars”. The accelerated
development of tourism jeopardizes the preservation of its delicate ecological system consumed
by “over development due to thriving needs but does not have runway free-market tourism.

Capsule hotels are one of Japan's best known and unique types of lodging. They are
usually found around major train stations in large cities and target individuals looking for a low
budget, single night's stay. Capsule hotels provide their guests with private, enclosed beds and
basic amenities for less money than regular or business hotels. They usually charge between 3000
and 4000 yen per night. Recently a few premium and themed capsule hotels have been opening
around Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka with slightly higher prices.

While capsule hotels traditionally cater mostly to business men, these days many places also
accept female guests and offer gender segregated sleeping floors or separate buildings for men
and women. Capsule hotels are also popular with foreign travelers and are increasingly offering
English websites and booking systems.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PROJECT:

The significance of the study will be beneficial for light traveler tourist. It will also help local
vacationers with low budget but also wants a decent tropical experience of Puerto galeras
world class beach. It will also promote Puerto galera’s boost in its economic and tourism and
give vacationer a much less expensive choice to traveler a place to stay-in.

THE SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:

The scope of project is the development of the proposed capsule hotel in a minimalist
approach located in White Beach, Puerto Galera. It will focus on creating less expensive choice
to traveler a place to stay-in but a decent place to rest.

THE OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT:

 To provide an accommodation for the guest.


 To provide much less expensive choice to traveler a place to stay-in.
 To provide facilities for the guest.
 To develop the site through minimalist architecture.
A SAMPLE OF EXISTING PROJECTS RELATED TO YOUR PROPOSAL:

Nonze Hostel, Pattaya, Thailand

Only a short walk from the Central Festival Pattaya Beach, the Nonze Hostel’s sleeping pods all
feature either rustic, modern, or vintage designs. Guests have a choice between double or
single capsules and the hostel has a communal seating area and a rooftop restaurant
overlooking the sea.

It’s simply a movement that focuses on cutting out much “extra” as possible reducing
everything to design that focuses on function. It also focuses on space and how open space can
be enhanced by the placement of only the essential function elements.

Financing Scheme:

The proposed project will be funded by Private investor.


Site Location:

The proposed project site is located in White beach, Puerto Galera Or. Mindoro having a
current area of 7,853 square meter or 0.78 hectares.
