We wish to gain for ourselves and the holy souls in purgatory the many
indulgences attached to this devotion and most fervently, we implore You
to pour down Your blessings upon us and our children at home and in
foreign lands. O Jesus, while we are here in Your adorable presence, we
are resolved to forget all our business, our cares and anxieties; to forget
the world and all its false pleasures and to give all our thoughts entirely
to You alone, in rendering You supreme homage and adoration and in
contemplating Your lonely life in our Tabernacles. Amen.
LEADER: O Lord Jesus Christ, who has promised, that wherever two or
three shall be gathered together in Your name, You will be there in the
midst of them, look down with love and compassion upon these, Your
children, who are assemble before You, to honor Your Sacred Heart, and
to make it known and loved by all. Come into the midst of us, O Sweet
Jesus; fill our hearts with Your blessings and inflame them with Your love.
Spiritual Communion
ALL: My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy
Sacrament. I love you above all things and I desire to receive You into my
soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least
spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there, and
I unite myself wholly to You; never permit me to be separated from You.
SECOND QUARTER
ALL: O Divine Jesus, lonely tonight in so many tabernacles, without
visitor or worshipper, I offer You my poor but loving heart. May its every
beating be a prayer of love for You. You are ever watching under the
sacramental veil; in Your love, You never sleep and are never weary of
Your vigil for sinners. O good Jesus, I love You; I am truly sorry for having
offended You. O lonely Jesus, may my heart be a lamp, the light of which
shall burn and beam for You alone. Bless me, O Jesus, come spiritually
into
my soul and fill my heart with love for You. Make me, Jesus, wholly
Yours. Take this wayward heart of mine. Guide it through this valley of
tears. Heart of Jesus, hear me. When I draw my parting breath, when my
eyes shall close in death, then sweet Jesus, be near me.
O Heart of Jesus, hear me. Watch, Sacramental Sentinel, watch for the
weary world, for the erring soul, and for Your poor lonely child.
Prayer to the Heart of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament
ALL: O sweet Jesus, let me lay at Your Sacred feet my daily share of joys,
struggles and sorrows, my hopes and fears; and in the stillness of Your
sanctuary, do tenderly gather them into Your Most Sacred Heart. Solace
my doubts, calm my fears and grant that day by day I may become more
united to You.
O Heart of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, overflowing with gentleness,
tenderness and charity, bury in the abyss of Your Mercy all my iniquities
and all my negligences. I offer You my labors and sufferings, my sorrows
and my miseries; I recommend to You my life and my death.
THIRD QUARTER
Act of Reparation
ALL: Divine Savior of souls, with countenances covered with confusion,
we prostrate ourselves in Your sovereign presence. Our eyes turn toward
the solitary tabernacle where You, imprisoned, sigh for our love.
Heartbroken, we grieve at the sight of You, forgotten by those whom You
have redeemed. Your blood made void, Your sacrifices fruitless, Your
love derided. Yet, since in Your infinite condescension, You permit us
tonight to unite our sighs with Yours, our tears with the tears which for
our sake, fell from those sacred eyes and with the drops of blood which
poured out from Your Divine Heart, we pray to You, sweet Jesus, for
those who do not pray to You; we bless You in place of those who curse
You; we adore You for those who outrage You. With every power of our
souls, in all the moments of this night, and before all the tabernacles of the
world, in union with the efficacious desires of Your loving Heart, we wish
to bless and praise You.
LEADER: O Lord, may the cry of expiation and repentance that rise
from our contrite hearts ascend to You.
For our sins and for those our parents, brothers, sisters, friends, and of
all the world. (R)
For infidelity and sacrilege, for hatred and animosities. (R)
For blasphemies, for the profanation of holy days. (R)
For impurities and scandals. (R)
For thefts and injustices; for faint-heartedness and human respect. (R)
For disobedience to Holy Mother Church, for the violation of fasting. (R)
For the crimes of spouse, the negligence of parents, and the faults of
children. (R)
For offenses committed against the Supreme Pontiff. (R)
For the persecutions raised against bishops, priests, religious and sacred
virgins. (R)
For the insults done to Your images, the profanation of Churches, the
abuse of the Sacraments and outrages against Your august tabernacle.
(R)
For the crimes of the impious and blasphemous press, for the horrid
machinations of secret sects. (R)
For the just who waver, for sinners who resist grace, and for all those
who suffer, MERCY, O LORD, MERCY.
LEADER: Pardon, O Lord, and mercy for those who need most Your
grace. May the light of Your divine eyes never be withdrawn from us.
Chain our inconstant heart to the door of Your Tabernacle, that it may
experience there the flames of divine love and for their own ingratitude
and rebelliousness, may their heart grieve in pain, may they weep tears
of blood and may they live dying of love.
ALL: Amen.
Prayer for the Dying
LEADER: O most merciful Jesus, burning with love for souls, we pray,
by the agonies of Your most Sacred Heart and by the sorrows of Your
Immaculate Mother, to wash in Your blood the sinners of the whole world
now in their agony and about to die this day.
ALL: Amen.
LEADER: Agonizing Heart of Jesus,
ALL: Have mercy on the dying.
FOURTH QUARTER
ALL: Jesus, my God, my King, now I must leave You, but carry away
with me the memory of Your wounded love. It will not be long until I
come to visit You. Till then, I leave my poor heart before the tabernacle.
Let its every beat tell You that I love You, and that I am longing to be
free to spend another hour with You. Bless me before I go, my Jesus.
Bless my home and undertakings. Bless my dear ones, my friends, and
my enemies too. Amen.
TANTUM ERGO
Tantum ergo Sacramentum, veneremur cernui:
Et antiquum documentum novo cedat ritui;
Praestet fides supplementum sensuum defectui.
Benediction
Priest: You have given them bread from heaven. (Alleluia)
All: Containing in itself all sweetness. (Alleluia)
Priest: Let us pray. O God, who under a wonderful Sacrament has
left us a memorial of Your Passion; grant that we may so
venerate the Sacred Mysteries of Your Body and Blood, that
we may always feel within ourselves the effects of Your
redemption; You who live and reign with God the Father, in
the unity of Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
All: Amen.
