(Number of livestock involves)

From a research conducted by a farmer friend,

A fodder mat which is approximately 5-6 kg is enough for a fully grown cow in a day.

A fodder mat is enough for 6 goat / sheep in a day

A fodder mat is enough for 3 pig I a day

These very important factor will affect the following:

Number of drainage pipe,

Size of stand / frame

Number of layers of stand/ frame

Irrigation kit

total area of the housing unit.

Cost of construction and installation.

Note If we are to go on manual watering, pump and irrigation kit cost will not be included in the costing
but it will eventually require more labour and un-even wetting of the system which will result into mold
formation.

Manual watering is used by small scale fodder system.

Training of farm personnel.
