Problem Statement
Alice George, the Assistant Vice-President (AVP) marketing, at Conman Systems Pvt Ltd.
Established in 1991, company manufactures and market Personal Computers (PCs) and
Laptops for both home users and business users. Alice led the Home computing business with
rationality and integrity, having to prove every day in male domination sector of marketing
business henceforth resulting in increase in revenue by two-and-a-half times. Conman System
plan of penetrating the business computing market with new revamped team under leadership
of newly recruited male associate Manohar Naik in Marketing department. However, the
company is ready to compromise on integrity to enter the league of top five in market
undermining the efforts and hard work of female associate Alice.

Alternatives to solve problem


 Alice should go ahead with the role of Vice President, Public Relation (VP, PR).
 Alice should go ahead with the role of Vice President, Public Relation (VP, PR) and
demand for a split of marketing entity in Home Computing and Business computing
respectively. She should continue to hold Home computing while Manohar shall hold
Business computing.
 Alice should go ahead with the role of Vice President, and search for new job
opportunity.
 Instantly quit the job.

Alternative selected along with action plan


 Alice has excellent background in customer relation and connection with customer and
dealers. She is known as “People Person”, due to her unique charming approach to
establish connection with people.
 Alice has led to an increase in company turnover by two-and-a-half times. She has also
accredited to Conman System market share of Laptop from 1% to 5% in four years. Her
innovative approach to customers of Home business led to great success. As company
wants to anyhow penetrate the Business computing, she should leave it to Manohar
Naik.
 Alice has excellent background in customer relation and connection with customer and
dealers. She is known as “People Person”, due to her unique charming approach to
establish connection with people. This role creates new challenge which might
influence her stay back, while searching for other prospect of marketing domain along
way.
 Alice removal from her most preferred domain of marketing will lead her in quitting
the job. She has great profile and land into new job pretty soon.
