DESIGN OF INTERNEDIATUFLIGHT: --

C/C of Supporting Beam = 1250+2500+100 = 3850

Assuming 0.3% Steel, Modification Factor = 1.43
Effective Depth of Steel = 3850/(20*1.43) = 135 (3850 is the c/c of Beam)
Total Depth (D) = 135+20+5 = 160 (Assuming 10 Rod )
So, Effective Span = C/C of Support = 3850
LOADING: --
Dead Load Weight Slab  Rn Width= 25*D*√1+R2/T2 = 25*.160*√1+0.162/0.252 = 4.75 KN/m
Weight of Stirrup RM Weight = 25*RT/2T = (25*0.16*0.25)/(2*0.25) = 2.00 KN/m
Total Dead Load = 6.75 KN/m
Live Load = 3.00 KN/m
Total = 9.75 KN/m
Load of 40mm Thick Floor Finish /m = (24*1*0.040) = 0.96 KN/m
Total = 10.71 KN/m
Factor Load = (91.5*10.71) = 16.065 ≈ 16 KN/m
RA*3.850 = 1.25*13.0* (2.6+1.25/2) + 2.6*16*1.3

RA = 106.49/3.85 =27.66 KN
RB = (13*1.25)+(16*2.6) – 27.66 = 30.19 KN
Let, x For the Distance from RA Where S.F is Zero
RA – 13*1.25 – (x - 1.25) 16 = 0

so, B.M Mu max = RA*1.963 – 13*1.25(1.963 – 1.25/2) – 16(1.963 – 1.25)* 0.713/2

Allowable B.M for M20 Grade Concrete & Fe 415 Steel
Mulim = 0.138*fck*bd2

or, Ast = 650mm2
Using 10 Rod, Area of One Rod = 78.55mm2
Spacing = (78.55*1000)/650 = 120.85 (Say 120mm C/C)
Actual Ast = (78.55*1000)/120 = 654.6mm2
Distributer: --
Area of Steel = (0.12*1000*160)/100 = 192mm2

(100*Ast)/bd = 100*654.6/1000*135 = 0.485%
Ƭc for 0.485% Steel = 0.413mm2 Which More Than Ƭv (So it is Safe)

Check for Eff. Depth: --

d = √Mu /2.761*1000 = √28.49*106/2.761*1000 = 101.6mm

Beam at Half Landing: --

b = L0/12 + bw + 3Df
= 2800/12 + 200 + 3*160 = 233 + 200 + 480 = 913 (Say 900)
Load,
Safe Weight of Beam = 0.40*.2*25 = 2 KN/m*1.5 = 3.0 KN-m
Weight of B/Wall 200 Thick = 1*0.2*3.01*19 = 11.4*1.5 = 12.13 KN-m
Load for Stair = 27.66 KN-m

Q=400-(25+8) = 367 M
Sagging moment at = (48.168*2.8) /8 =47.2 KN-m
Fixed end moment = (w*2.82) = (48.16*2.82) /12

Ƭv =27.66*(.7/2) *2.8* h = 9.48

Ƭv moment =(900-0.2) *27.46 *0.35 =9.48 KN-m
VU = (42.8*2.55) /2 =54.57 KN
Ve = Vu+1.6*(Ƭv/6) =54.57+1.6*(9.48/6) =57.1 KN
Ƭve = (123.6*1000)/(200*367) =1.684 KN/mm2
(Which is less than 2.8kn/mm2)
d = 400-25-8 =367 (Using 16 bar)

Long Reinforcement: --
Equivalent B.M Mu = Mu + M2
Where,Mu = Tu {(1 + D/b)/1.7} = 9.5*(1+.400/.2)/1.7 = 16.76KN-m
= 15.740 + 16.76 = 32.46KN-m
Mulim = 0.36fck Xumax/d(1 – 0.42Xumax/d)bd2
= 0.36*20*0.48(1 – 0.2*0.48)200*3672 = 74.328*106KN-m
Since Mu<Mulim, The section is Under reinforced
Mu = 0.87*fy*Ast*d(1 – fy*aAst/fck bd)
or, 32.46*106 = 0.87*415*Ast*367(1 – 415*Ast/20*200*367)
or, 32.48*106 = 132505 Ast – 37.46 Ast2
or, 0.87*106 = 3537 Ast – Ast2
or, Ast2 – 3537 Ast + 0.648*106
or, Ast = (3537 ±√35372 – 4*0.648*106)/2
= 3537 - 3000 /2 = 267mm2
Mulim reinforcement Ast/bd = 0.85/Fy
Or, Ast = 0.85 bd/Fy
= 0.85*200*367/415 = 150.34<197.5b (It is ok)
So,Use - 12 Rod ,Area of One Rod = 113.1
3 -- 12 at Bottom is 2*113.1 = 226.2mm2

Triangular Reinforcement: --
100*Ast/bd = (100*226.2)/200*367 = 0.31%
For table Ƭc = 0.39 N/mm2
Sence Ƭve > Ƭc triangular reinforce is essential
The Area of two legged of Striup should Satisfy the following: -
Asv*0.87fy/Sv = Ƭu /b1d1 + Vu/2.5d1
= 6.78*106/114*316+121.79*103/2.5*316
= 188+154 = 342
Asv*0.87fy/Asv = 342 N/mm
Also area of all the Legs of Striup should Satisfy the following Condition: --
Asv = (Ƭve - Ƭc)*b*Sv/0.87fy
Or, Asv*0.87fy/Sv = (Ƭve – Ƭc)*b
= (1.684 – 0.39)*200
= 259N/mm2
Choose up grater one of the two ,we have
Asv/Sv = 342/0.87fy = 342/361 = 0.947
For 10 Striup ,Sv = (2*78.550)/.947 = 165 (Say 160 mm)
Again, This Spacing rod Exced as per load,X1 Z(X1+Y1)/4 and 300
X1 = Shape Dimention of Stirup
= 200 - 2*30 = 140mm
Y1 = Long Dimention = 500 -2*30 = 440mm
X1+Y1/4 = (440+140)/4 = 145mm
Hence Spacing of 10 Striup Shuld be 145 C/C
Negative Moment at the Support = 31.46KN/m
Mulim for Rectangle Section = 74.318KN/m Which is more Reinforced at top
31.46*106 = 0.87*415*Ast*367(1 – 415*Ast/20*200*367)
Or, 31.46*106 = 132505Ast – 37.46Ast2
Or, 0.84*106 = 3237Ast – Ast2
Or, Ast2 – 3537Ast+0.84*106 = 0
Or,Ast = 3537±√35372 – 4*0.84*106/2
= 3537 – 3025/2 = 256mm2
Use 3-12 at the end
1.684/12.75 = 0.39/x
Or, x = 0.30
So use 10 Stirrup @ so C/C 4 to 1275 – 0.3 = 0.975m
For inner and the central depth 2*0.30
has to the with horizontal Shear force
Which is Asv /6 Sv = 0.4/0.87fy
Using 8 stirrup = Asv*0.87fy/0.486 = (2*50.3*0.87*415)/0.4*200 = 227mm
0.75*d = 0.75*367 = 275mm
So use 8 @ 225 C/C at mid span
Landing Beam at Floor Level: --
Ly = L0/6 + 6*Df + bw
= 2800/6+6*100+250
= 467+600+250 = 1317 (Say 1300)
Using 12 rod
Effective Depth = 300 – 25 – 6 = 269mm

Effective Span = 1) 2800

= 2) 2550+269 = 2819
Use Effective Span = 2800mm
Loading: --
Self-Weight = 0.3*0.25*25 = 1.875KN*1.5 = 2.813/m
Loading for 100 thick slab
Self-weight = 0.1 *25 = 2.50 kN/m
Lintel = 3.00KN/m
Floor finish = 0.96Kn/m
6.46 KN/m
Total load/m = 1.5*1.25/2*6.46=30.19 KN/m
Load for Stair slab –
Total = 39.06
So B.M , MuD = (39.06*2.82)/8=38.28KN-m
MuL=0.36*fck*bf*Df(d-0.42Df)
=0.36*20*1300*100(269-0.42*100)
=9.36*105*227=212.472*106 KN-m
So, MuL>MUD
Reinforcement: --
38.28*106=0.87*415Ast*269(1-415Ast/250*269*20)
=97122Ast-29.97Ast2
Or, 1.277*106=3241Ast-Ast2
Or, Ast =3241±√32412-4*1.277*106/2
=(3241-2322)/2=460mm2
Using 12 rod ,no of rod required =460/113=4 mm
This slighting beam if 4-12 is use
So, use 250*325 section, d=294
Mu Reinforcement: --
Ast/bd=0.85/fy
Or, Ast=0.85*bd/fy
=(0.85*250*294)/415
=151mm2 (So it is safe)
Shear factor=1/2*2.8*39.06=54.684 KN
Ƭv =(54.684*103)/250*269=0.813 N/mm2
% of steel at support =100*Ast/b*d=(100*4*113.1)/250*294
=0.616%
Ƭc for 0.673%=0.48+(0.008/0.25)*0.16=0.48+0.0512=0.517
Ƭve is more than Ƭc, shear Reinforced is required
Shear Reinforced: --
Vus = Vu - Ƭc*b*d = 54684 – 517*250*254
= 54684 – 3800 = 16684/m
Spacing Sv for 8 Stirup = 0.87fy*Asv*d/vus = 0.87*415*2*50.3*294/16684
= 640mm
Maximum Spacing – 1) 0.75*294 = 220
2) 300
So use 8 Stirup @ 220 C/C
