FIRST QUARTERLY REPORT
SY: 2019-2020

1. INTRODUCTION
This report for the first quarter of the year 2019 summarizes the progressive
and productive months of January, February, and March. These months may have
been progressive in the sense that our school had its developmental activities.
Mainly, this report contains the programs and activities of the school for the
period of January to March which includes Early Enrolment, Third General PTA
Meeting, Construction of the School Plaza, Landscaping, Repair and Painting of
Classroom, Career Guidance, Coastal Clean-up, Participation to the Town Fiesta,
Fourth General PTA Meeting and Recognition Day and Moving Up Ceremony.
Despite of the limited resources, faculty and staff, with the great help of the
students and stakeholders, had managed to achieve the great desire to succeed.

2. HIGHLIGHTS OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS
i. Early Enrolment
“The best way to predict the future is to create it.”-Abraham Lincoln.
We cannot foretell what the future will be unless we invent it. As we
come up with the ideas that we want to happen, we begin to plan. As we begin
to plan, we take our actions. As we make actions, we begin to create our
future.
Pinamihagan National High School prepared the students’ passport for
the future by conducting an early enrolment for incoming grade 7 students last
January 26, 2019. The said enrolment was conducted in different sitio and
barangay. Mr. Cristian I. Iguiron was assigned in sitio Sugod with an
enrolment of 14. Ms. Eiah C. Delos Santos was assigned to barangay
Pinamihagan with an enrolment of 17. Mr. Mark A. Nablue was in sitio
Batacan with only 1 enrolment and Mrs. Sara Joy M. Gonzales and Mr.
Angeles D. Elisan were assigned in barangay Combot with an enrolment of
10. Early enrolment has a total of 42 enrollees.

ii. Third General Quarterly PTA Meeting


Pinamihagan National High School held its third general quarterly PTA
meeting last January 18, 2019. It was to discuss the various concerns about the
students, school as well as the parents. This kind of activity strengthens the bond
between the school and the community.
The issues tackled during the activity were the following: 1. miscellaneous
fee, 2. Student report card, 3. student’s cutting classes, 4. student’s absences.
After discussing the various issues, awarding of the learners with honors and
homeroom meeting followed.

Repair and Painting of Classroom
Nothing is impossible, it is a saying that we commonly heard from everyone.
All we need is cooperation and unity to succeed. The school has its rocky
features that you might trip if you will not look in your way.
The end of school year was fast approaching, so the faculty and staff headed
by HTV/OIC Mr. Casiano F. Pasig together with the stakeholders come to a
decision to construct the school plaza in preparation to the Recognition Day and
Moving Up Ceremony. Upon concreting the school plaza, teachers started to
landscape their designated area and other teachers had their classroom repair
and painting.

iv. Career Guidance


Career Guidance is about equipping students with necessary knowledge, skills
and values to make informed decisions and to manage their career pathways and
lifelong learning throughout their lives.
Therefore, Pinamihagan National High School held its Career Guidance
Activity on March 8, 2018. An activity which was actively participated by Grade 10
students.
The activity started at exactly 7 o’clock in the morning with a parade led by
PNHS Drum and Lyre followed by the grade 10 students, parents, the resource
speakers, and PNHS Teaching Staff.
The program started with a prayer led by Angeles D. Elisan II followed by the
Philippine National Anthem conducted by Cristian I. Iguiron. Opening remarks was
given by Mr. Casiano F. Pasig, Head Teacher V and the Officer-in-charge of
Pinamihagan National High School.
The first speaker was Mr. Genesis I. Miguel. He gave emphasis to this
quotation “Once a dreamer will become a dreamer.” He dreamed to travel around the
globe specifically Europe, and he does because he worked hard in an international
cruise ship.
The second speaker was Doctor Catherine C. Tinao, the municipal dentist of
San Jose. She said that in dentistry you need to be alone but you need a companion,
persistent and accomplished your work on time.
The third speaker was Engineer Nephtalie T. Tinao. He gave brief information
about the branches of engineering and its respective job. He ended up his talk with
this quotation “ Ang hangarin ng masipag ay natutupad at ang pangarap ng tamad ay
hindi natutupad.”
SPO2 Tommy Falogme was the fourth speaker. According to him all four year
courses could enter in Police department with the following qualifications: physically
fit, illegible and no derogatory offense.
The fifth speaker was Atty. Erwin M. Fortunato. He said that poverty is not the
hindrance to succeed, the gadgets and cellphones hinders. He imparted the
requirements in taking up the Law such as he/she should be a graduate of
elementary, secondary and college and most especially has undertaken ROTC. His
concluding statement was “legal profession is the most noble profession.”
The sixth speaker was Mrs. Sigrid V. Mariano. She began with asking the
learners with what is their purpose in life. According to her, a nurse should have
good communication skills, smart, and is emotionally stable.
The seventh speaker was Mr. Rodel Mariano from transportation sector.
According to him whatever our job is, do it right and with accordance to the law.
The eight speaker was from business sector, Mrs. Belinda M. Malacad, the
municipal treasurer. She said that there was nothing to memorize in accounting, all
you need was to analyze and study hard.
The harder you work, the luckier you get, uttered by the ninth speaker, Hon.
Eduard Estimado, Sangguniang Bayan Member.
The tenth speaker was Mr. Wencel Arvin Sabocojan of Computer Technology
Section. According to him there are five skills one should possess in BSIT, the
analytical skills, logical and critical thinking skills, technical skills, mathematical skills
and interpersonal skills. In IT one should follow instructions. He ended his talk in this
line, “A smooth sea never made a good navigator, a boat doesn’t sink because of the
water around it but a boat will because of the water inside.
The 11th speaker was from religious sector, Pastor Michael Jongay. He gave
emphasis on 3D’s one should have in life: dedication, devotion and determination.
Closing remarks was given by. Mr. Antonio F. Famaran, Master Teacher
II.

1. Coastal Clean-up
Pinamihagan National High School joined the coastal clean-up activity which was
spearheaded by the Local Government Unit last March 15, 2019 in preparation
for the incoming town and religious fiesta of San Jose.

v. Participation to the Town Fiesta


The Town and Religious Fiesta of San Jose, Romblon was held on March 16-
20, 2019. Pinamihagan National High School joined the Civic Parade and Ground
Demonstration which was held on the first day of the town fiesta.

On the fourth day, PNHS students joined the street dancing competition and
street dance showdown and won the third prize amounting twenty thousand pesos
(20,000) and a trophy.

2. Fourth General Quarterly PTA Meeting
Last March 29, 2019, Pinamihagan National High School held its 4 th general
quarterly meeting. It was to tackle different concerns about students, school as
well as the parents. This activity connects home and school thus making a great
community of learners.

The issues discussed during the said activity were the following: 1. recognition
day and moving-up ceremony, 2. Brigada Eskwela 2019, 3. Reporting of
donations.

“Success doesn’t come to you; you’ve got to go to it”. – Marva Collins
Nice things don’t come to those who sit down and wait, you need to exert
effort to achieve them. You have to work hard to be successful. If you choose to do
nothing, then nothing will happen. You cannot rush things, you need to be patient in
order to reach your goals and have perseverance. In return, you will get what you
deserve.
To recognize learners’ success, Pinamihagan National High School headed by
HTV/OIC Mr. Casiano F. Pasig conducted its recognition day in the morning and
moving-up ceremony in the afternoon last April 4, 2019.
