DEL GALLEGO CENTRAL SCHOOL
Another school year has passed yet another challenges we faced and another
hard work has been paid by our achievements this year. Today it’s my pleasure to
present to you the State of the School Address of Del Gallego Central School.
Truly there are lot of challenges came this year, the enrolment for this year
is 1,329 which is a bit smaller than last year, and the drop outs alarmingly increased
to 18, which should be really addressed the following next year, as we plan for
another cycle of SIP and one of our major target is to minimized the number or
probably we are able to completely eliminate the drop out numbers. However, the
promotion rate has been maintained to 96%. The nutritional status of the pupils is
still very good and we should acknowledge the feeding program coordinator and
the local health department for monitoring the health of our students and by giving
them free supplements and deworming medications. The average grades of our
students range from 83% - 85% and this is actually better than last year, indicating
that our teachers exert extra effort regarding the academic performances of the
pupils, and this is because they never stopped for stepping up for their professional
development they were sent to different trainings and seminars and really apply
their learnings to the field.
This year we really performed well in sports, we have chess and table tennis
athletes who made it to reach the regional and national sports competition proudly
bringing home medals as their thanksgiving to their ever supportive and dedicated
teacher coaches, also we have a very good performances in academic
competitions.
This year we are facing the challenge of the decrease in the number of
enrolment and the increase of the dropout rate, but I am confident that together
we can beat this challenge, this challenge will be our fuel of motivation to strive
more, to have more interventions, to have more participations of the other
stakeholders, to have a better camaraderie among teachers, parents and other
stakeholders. I’m confidently assuming that with our next year’s SIP cycle we can
address these problems.
