PROJECTS

 Seat Belt Misuse Detection System


July 2019
A TATA Motors project under the guidance of Dr. J.V. Tirkey, Associate Professor Dept. of
Mechanical Engineering, IIT (BHU) & coordinated by Dr. S.K. Shukla founder coordinator of
Centre for Energy AND Resource Development (CERD), IIT (BHU).
 Assurance is made that the seat belt is worn properly by the driver.
 Infrared emitter-receiver pairs are placed at some distance on the front side of
a normal belt.
 The Infrared emitter-receiver pairs are connected to arduino set and act as a
proximity sensor.
 If anything is too close to any of the proximity sensor a simple algorithm detects
the type of misuse and sets off the warning alarm connected to the system.
 A Next Generation Transportation pod
November 2018
An exploratory project under the guidance of Dr. Laltu Chandra, Associate Professor Dept.
of Mechanical Engineering, IIT (BHU).
 A suitable design of transportation pod was selected.
 After selection of design, pod was fabricated using aluminium using casting
and then machining was done.
 Attempts were done to levitate the transportation pod.

Several parts like chassis, front and rear arms were fabricated and the RC car was re-
assembled.
