3.By what did Allah swear in the beginning of the surah, and to prove what?
Ans: Allah swore by the Holy Quran that Muhammad is one of His messengers.
4. What was the main mission of the Prophet according to this surah?
Ans: His mission was to warn the people against disbelief and disobedience to the
Creator.

Ans: Antioch in present South Turkey

Ans: Three

Ans: Sadiq, Saduq and Shalum.

Ans: The struggles and sacrifices of the messengers of Allah, Tawheed, Akhirah, Risalah.
3) Why did Allah increase the number of messengers sent to the town? List three
possible reasons?
Ans:
a) Become stronger in the face of the disbelievers / to prove that they are true
prophets.
b) To strengthen them so that they work as a team.
c) To show unity of purpose

4) What was the main mission of the Prophet according to this Surah?
Ans: To convey the message of Allah and warn the people against the punishment if
they disbelieve.
5) Describe the response of the town to the messengers? Explain the motives behind
such response.
Ans: The people of the town disbelieved; rejected the messengers, insulted them and
even threatened them with severe punishment. They were not prepared to give their
power and status.
6) Were the messengers intimidated by the town’s response and threats? Explain
why?
Ans: They stood fast on their message and mission because they had absolute faith in
Allah.
7) State a similar example to this story from the see rah of the Prophet.
Ans: Prophet Muhammad used to preach but Quraysh leaders mocked and denied the
message. He did not give up his mission and continued to strive in the face of intense
opposition.
8) What lessons we learn from the believer in this story? List at least three lessons.
a) A believer must stand fast on his belief, even if the majority around him/her
disbelieve.
b) A believer must support other believers and help them to serve and hold fast to their
faith.
c) Sometimes, a believer may pay his life for standing firm on his principles, and Allah
will reward him/her for that in Jannah.
9) What reward and honor did the believer receive from Allah? Support you answer
with an ayah and a hadith.

Ans: He was rewarded with Jannah and was honored by being mentioned and praised
in the Quran. Quran states:
“It was said, Enter paradise”. He said: I wish people knew. That my Lord has
forgiven me, and made me of the honored ones.!”
2- How did the Quran describe the movement of the sun according to these
ayaat?
“And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the
determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing.”
3- How did the Quran describe the creation of the moon according to these ayaat?
Ans: Allah says: We have ordained phases for the moon until finally it becomes like an
old date-stalk.
Moon phases start as a crescent, then full moon, then crescent. The phases of the
moon is called scientifically as waxing and waning.

4- How did the Quran describe the movement of day and night according to these
ayaat?
Ans: The sun rotates in its orbit around the sun. The side facing the sun is day time and
the side facing away is night. The night cannot Outpace the day.
5- How did the Quran describe the movement of the planets according to these
ayaat?
Ans: The planet rotates around the sun on its orbit, the solar system. The closest planet
to the sun is the hottest.
Allah says, “Each revolve in its own orbit”.
6- Were you amazed as you were reading some of the statements made by our early
scholars about astronomy and science? How? Quote some of the quotes you liked.
Ans: Yes, I was truly amazed. When Quran was revealed there were no microscopes
and telescopes but science and scientists discover such facts as mentioned in the
Qur’an many centuries later. For example: Allah has given the sun its own light and the
moon its reflection of light and has given each its own orbit.
