Young’s Class
Snack Time
Since our class has an early lunch time (10:55), we will have a snack every day during
late afternoon. This is an opportunity for your child to eat a healthy snack that will
help sustain them until they arrive home. If you would like your child to participate in
snack time, please make sure your child brings in a healthy DRY snack every day,
even if they buy a school lunch. Unfortunately, if your child does not bring a snack,
they may not be able to enjoy a snack while their classmates do. Because snack time
will take place in our classroom and at times they will be working while snacking,
please send only dry snacks that do not require a spoon and do not make a big mess.
Some examples of dry snacks would be dry cereal, goldfish crackers, trail mix, granola
bars, dried fruit, etc. Please avoid fruit cups, yogurt, applesauce, etc. These “spoon
snacks” are perfect for lunchtime! Please pack your child’s snack separately from their
lunch in their tote bag and label it with their name and “snack”, especially at the
beginning of the year. Please do not send in drinks for snack time. They will be able to
use the drinking fountain.
$$ Lunch Money $$
Please send lunch money in a baggie or envelope labeled with your child’s name and
their teacher’s name. Send all lunch money in your child’s BLUE FOLDER on the RED
“Return to School” SIDE so I will get it when we check for notes each morning. Please
send lunch money for the week on MONDAYS if possible.
OR
Please feel free to make an account and use the school’s EZ PAY system to manage
your child’s lunch count online. This link can be found on the school’s website
(www.monroelocalschools.com) under the “Parent Resources” tab or at

Breakfast
The cost for breakfast is $1.45 and available beginning at 8:40 (not available on the
first day of school). Students who wish to buy breakfast are dismissed first from the
bus. They eat in the cafeteria before coming to class. Students who eat breakfast are
still expected to complete their morning work in class. Please discuss with your child
if they will be eating breakfast at home or at school.
