Review Panel for a final decision. Achievement of the IWCF Programme
Requirements (Section 2.2 above) is essential.
3. Programme and declaration
Applicant-instructors must sign the declaration on the application form before submitting the
application to IWCF.
The Assessment Centre Manager must approve the application before submitting to IWCF.
The Assessment Centre Manager is responsible for checking that all the information in the
application is accurate. The Assessment Centre Manager is held responsible for ensuring
the instructor conducts IWCF courses in compliance with the centres accreditation.
The instructor must hold the appropriate IWCF certification at all times in order to maintain
accreditation.
If the instructor does not maintain accreditation, they will be cancelled, and courses taught
during the period without accreditation may be voided if they have not met the standard.
Candidates’ certificates will remain valid for 90 days to allow time for re-testing to take
place. Any financial considerations to candidates or clients due to this will be the
responsibility of the Assessment Centre.
To renew accreditation as an instructor for the same type and level, the applicant-instructor
must continue to meet the standards for the programme/disciplines they are applying to
instruct.
To reapply for accreditation applicant-instructors should complete the Instructor Renewal
Application Form and submit this together with any specified additional documentation to
IWCF within 90 days of expiry of their current accreditation. Failure to submit the renewal
application within this timescale will mean the instructor will be considered a new applicant
and will have to apply as such.
It is the responsibility of the Assessment Centre to ensure that IWCF receive the completed
renewal application within the appropriate timescale.
Instructors may apply for accreditation as an instructor at more than one accredited centre.
This must be for the same type and level as their current accreditation. They must continue
to meet the requirements of their current accreditation and ensure they have carried out a
training programme using the simulator model at the additional accredited centre, if this is
different from the simulator used to obtain their original accreditation as an instructor (only
applicable for drilling well control level 3 and 4 instructors).
8. Auditing
The instructor’s performance and record will be audited during the routine, regular audits of
the Assessment Centre.
In addition the instructor may be audited at any time at the discretion of IWCF.
If non-conformances are found during an audit, the instructor will be asked to take
corrective action which includes re-training, suspension or termination of their accreditation.
Corrective action requests may also be given to the Accredited Centre at which they are
registered.
