Key Search System

Key Search System

Abstract:

This project is aimed at developing an online Key


Search System. This is an Intranet based application that can be accessed
throughout the campus. This system can be used to search for Keys(find out
who is having a particular key/find the location of lock set), registering keys.
Keeping track of our stuff and not being able to find something is a minor
challenge to happiness, of course , but it's one of those minor things that can
make us crazy. By using this system we can make our environment better.

Existing System:

● Present there is no existing system for searching the keys.

● We Search manually by looking where it’s supposed to be and repeating


the name ,system gives us very less security for saving data and some
data may be lost due to mismanagement.

● The manual system may not provide the facility or users to share the
details of the key , as the key won’t tell where corresponding lock is.

Proposed System:

● This system maintains key and key holder contact details properly.
● User friendliness is provided in the application with various controls
provided by system rich user interface.

● This system makes the overall project management much easier and
flexible.
Advantages:

● No wastage of time

● There won’t be any data loss.

● Easy to search keys and lock set

Project Specification

There are registered people in the system ( faculty). Each one of them
may have some exclusive privileges (faculty, for example, some may have
many keys with them, while some may not).

1. Admin Should store the data like which key is for which
building/room/lock
2. A person should be able to
● Register the key through the first page of the application.
● Search for a particular Key based on the name of the
building/room/key number printed on the lock.
● Include new keys or remove some keys from the inventory
● Key Transfer mechanism I.e, key with some ‘x’ can be transfer to
some ‘y’.
● Reverse search mechanism- If there is a key then we should find
where the lock is present.
● Need not return unique identity,all the identities get displayed
for ex:If there are various room with same key number
like key no 22 is for safe key in a office and Net lab in cse
building etc.,

● Operating System : Windows8/10
● User Interface : HTML, CSS
● Client-side Scripting : JavaScript
● IDE/Workbench : Notepad++
● Database : Oracle10g XE 
● Server Deployment : Tomcat

Hardware Requirements: (Minimum )

● Processor : Any minimum processor that can


run a web server 
● Hard Disk : 550GB 
● RAM : 4GB
