1. Project Title

The Centaurus Mall, A state of the art shopping and residential mall in Islamabad.

2. Detail of the Project

The Centaurus project is one of the remarkable input in the construction history of

Pakistan. This is one of the finest real estate development which is considered to be the state of

the art engineering input by the engineers from all over the world an especially Pakistan. This is

23 floors residential and shopping arena of Pakistan.

The Centaurus is a mixed-use real estate development in the city of Islamabad, Pakistan.

The project includes a 36-floor hotel, three 23-floor residential and office towers and a five-story

shopping mall. Designed by British architectural firm WS Atkins, it consists of three skyscrapers,

containing corporate offices, residential apartments, and a hotel. Centaurus Movenpick Hotel is

under construction and is expected to open in the first quarter of 2018.

The estimated cost for building the complex was $350 million USD. The Centaurus Mall

is four stores tall and comprises around 250 shops. Major tenants include Monel

Downtown Islamabad, Al-Fatah Store, Sensation, Khaadi, Gul Ahmed, Charles & Keith, Junaid

Jamshed, Hush Puppies, Sputnik Footwear, Adidas, Nike, Hub, and International Watch

Company. Recently international brands such as Mother care, Dune, Michael Kors, Accessorize,

Monsoon Kids, Funky Fish, Diesel (brand) and a Samsung experience store have been added.

3. Development of the Project

The Centaurus consists of 6.59 acres of architectural brilliance in the heart of Islamabad -

Pakistan. It is under construction on the most expensive plot in the history of Pakistan and designed

by ATKINS, which has a solid reputation in the creation of stunning buildings like the awe-

inspiring Burj-ul-Arab, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Twisting Tower, 21st Century Tower etc.

The Centaurus consists of 7 Star Hotel, Corporate Complex, Two Residential Towers and

International Standard Shopping Mall. It can bear up to 9.5 Magnitude Earth Quake and will be

completed by 2010. Centaurus is the brightest constellation in the southern sky, a collection of the

most brilliant stars. We wanted to create a mirror image of that on this planet by bringing together

people who outshine everyone else. People like you, the brightest stars in their fields. Yes, The

Centaurus is expensive, but then it is not just a building. It is philosophy it is a tribute to your

5. Time Duration for Completion

The construction of this project has been started in 2005 and it is completed in 2011. The

total time of the project is 6 years. This project has been open for the public is on 17th February

2013.

7. Estimated Cost for the Project

The estimated cost of the Project is 350 million USD dollar that includes the development

of a complete project. In Pakistani Ruppe, the total cost is 3500 crores.

8. Staffing and Resources

. Currently, there are 1500 peoples are employed at the centaurs mall and at the same time

during the construction process total of 5000 labor is estimated that has been used during the time

of construction.

9. Contractor of the Project

This project is designed by the British Architectural Firm WS Atkins which include three

skyscrapers that contain corporate offices, residential areas, and apartments, hotels and shopping

malls. The developer of the company is Pak Gulf Construction, Al Mahad group of Companies

from Saudi Arabia and Sardar Builders.
